So great hardly anyone is listening. That really is the sound of silence. It's a mad mad world. Then there's Kate shining the light in the darkness. Love it ♥️

I'm usually not one for poetry at all, but I was just blown away for 7 minutes straight there. Thank you :)

Why the heck doesn't she do music? This would be so much more awesome than it already is, with a beat to it.

Literally speaking, the term 'slam' doesn't refer to a style, but to an originally American poetry competition. It's come to be associated with a particular hip-hop inspired, rhyme-orientated style because that's what you hear at the vast majority of these events. Many other flavours of poetry are represented, just much less often. I don't mean to be anal, or put your point down, I'm just a passionate producer and consumer of spoken word, and enjoy furthering the discussion.

Saw her tonight - stunning. Just one thing - never add music. 90% of listeners won't hear the wonderful words, they'll just tap their toes and avoid thinking. These words should be heard not interred.
