Line tapering. Kite manufacturing shortcut leads to multiple equipment failures accident - an injury

Such easy and simple thing as line not being tapered during the manufacturing process led to unfortunate chain of events.... If I prevented at least a single injury with this video - well my time making it was not wasted.

Absolutely Right I always do it on all of My Lines before even using it. Hopefully manufacturers are watching it and taking it into consideration

Lines in one of my 4 kite bars turned out to be not tapered. Will have to fix... Thanks M8.

Brands must be responsible for what they do! We relying our lifes on their statements of HQ materials and workmanship, but it is far from reality. Do someone have real winning court case with brands?

Totally! Unfortunately if they could shave 25 cents off their manufacturing process they do. And in my opining very foolishly. it is just a matter of time before someone will pursue the matters further. If not winning the court case but killing the brand by making it public.

Have you seen any evidence that retrospectively applying the line taper (angled cut) on a used bar will help? I'm wondering if the damage has already been done and the taper won't change the force required to snap?

Very simple - On a very first use damage will start to occur and accumulate as you put more hours on it... Therefore do it on new lines or better yet do not buy untapered bars/ kites

Hugo, it is not my goal to destroy the reputation of a brand, especially taking into consideration that this particular brand has a great reputation for having a superior quality kite equipment. Hopefully, this is just an oversight and they will correct this mishap in a future iteration of their bars and their kites. Also they may not be the only one with this manufacturing shortcomings. So it is smart to check before you buy!
