Sir, in the last example, I think, not cosidering "a" in denominator while finding equation with sum and product was a wrong approact, although the answer gets uneffected of this error as both the euations have "a" as the coefficient of x2, and thus it gets cancelled out in the required expression, where we considered b/a = a (considering a = 1). In conclusion, the error is, value of a can not be identified from the given equations, and considering them 1 is a wrong method.
