I've always used expo and never liked linear. However, I recently switch to linear because for some reason the expo curve has felt off when turning.

I actually never used either, I used regular settings, no boost, no acceleration, no anything, just strict movements and I thought I was pretty fast but now that I’m on linear and have good sim settings with it as well I can edit and flick shot and reset just so much quicker and more consistently

Exp is good at small change target. This might make u think that I am saying exp is better for aiming but no, most gunfight in game are small change target. The target don't move fast and the changes is small over time. So in theory linear is actually even better for aiming however u won't notice that outside aim trainers since most game target isn't as difficult as aim trainers.

I enjoy Exponential even with building and editing, yes if you just switched to it the building and editing will be slow but you can always lower the deadzone or higher the build and edit sens, you will eventually get used to it

Was always on exponential got good at double editing almost triple switched to linear. Triple editing is sooo easy now. Should switched sooner. Gonna take me a bit to get back where I was tho.

Hello, I'm a casual player just coming back to Fortnite and enjoying the no build mode a lot. I've been messing with my ads sensitivity mostly and using linear settings. My question is if I wanted to make the move to exponential do I also need to go back and mess with my ads settings from where I've recently made changes or does it use its own static settings and what do you recommend if so? @@TheyCallMeNoName34 have you made the switch yet? I've thought about switching too and tried a few times but it felt weird.. and I had to increase my overall sensitivity a few points which also increases ads a little, just because Expo is more sluggish to get moving

@@slip-n-slide4807 Hello, yes since making the move to Expo my ADS from medium range and long range is great but I can say that I can notice a big difference when it comes to battling someone who's face to face with me and that's when I feel it's a little sluggish which does suck. But I may do what you said and bump my basic non ADS sens up a little and see if that helps. I got all my boosts/ramp times on 0% for both my regular moving sens and my ADS sens. Hope this helps, let me know more as you figure it out as well. Peace!

I honestly don’t care if I build slow as long as it gives me protection and getting me on higher ground quick enough for people to not kill me instantly them I’m good all I care about is my aim and I just switched from linear to expo leaner was to quick for me now I’m in legacy exponential

If you're confused about what linear and expo are. they are curve types. linear follows a pattern where it starts average/moderate speed and gets slighly faster over time. expo is where it starts slow and REALLY quickly gets fast. at least thats what i think.

They both have aim assist, the only difference between the two is that exponential starts off pretty slow and gradually gets faster and faster the further you push your stick. Think of it as multiplying 2 by 2 and then multiplying the sum ( 4 ) on repeat until reaching the maximum speed. Linear starts off at a Moderate speed and gets gradually faster the further you push the stick. This is best described as going up 1 speed for every extra step instead of multiplying. This is why it has a much more restricted range of motion than exponential. If you want a visual representation between the two, search up exponential graphs or linear graphs.

@@atreus4277 yeah I have a ps5 and my sister has an Xbox series s and the Xbox controller is terrible for aiming because the left stick isn't on the same level as the right stick and my wrists feel uncomfortable when using the triggers on Xbox too. PlayStation has a nice wide layout and the sticks are in perfect reach for aiming with your thumbs. I think hardcore build players would probably prefer then Xbox controller because it's smaller so it's easy to reach the buttons with the weird grips they use lol.
