Exactly, it's not line breeding. Breeding Truly is a lost art. Even the experts don't know the basics.

Brother and sister mating Is bad because both have the exact same genetic makeup so it's not a good idea at all Parent to offspring breeding is quite a normal practice in creating a strain or line of poultry or a whole new breed without it we would only have jungle fowl Parents to offspring is not as bad because the two birds only have 50% of the same genes however it is advisable to run two unrelated lines to create a new breed so once you have locked in the desired genes you can then cross the two lines as and when required I read a great book once (creative poultry breeding) it states in there it's line breeding if it goes well and inbreeding if it goes wrong

Bottom line is brother X sister outcome. Adnormal 50/50 How many times in my breed. But a side 50 more winning.

Is there a bad effect for inbreeding like brother to sister for my fowls?
@kodeone99393 жыл бұрын
Many of the best families of fowl were set by a bro sis mating of fowl that the parents were unrelated also tip many of the best fowl come from the crossing of light color and dark color for more spark tip#2 power cock over speed hens usually make much better battle fowl than visa versa good luck with the sport

Can you fight the line bred chickens? or only use them to keep the bloodline?
@mountaindweller59356 жыл бұрын
Jonathan Morales it depends on how many you have and are willing to risk but yes this is how one definitely develops winners to use!
@AndysAviary6 жыл бұрын
Kevin Morales we usually dont. we always cross and the sons of that are our battlecross. they are the ones we fight
@kodeone99393 жыл бұрын
You will have to use your own discretion . you can't know what any mating will produce until you breed some test every generation to be sure that you have something worth feeding not at the pitmaster the backyard should tell you if they still have the cut, game or what ever you are breeding for.good luck with the sport of kings

Up to you. But hybrids are considered superior over inbreds, that's basic principle in genetics.

What next after breeding to grand daughter?
@d67ge86 жыл бұрын
J V you have to breed mother with the grandson and father with the granddaughter when you get to this point start again with the best pullet and best stag of both parents and do the same again
@mountaindweller59356 жыл бұрын
Also if you have another proven performer you can breed him to the granddaughters,this is called an outcross and should be done after so much linebreeding.
@jaredleicht1656 Жыл бұрын
