In the sentence, "Nēmō per hunc imbrem inter tot fulgura ambulāre audet.", why is 'tot' used to describe the fulgura instead of 'tōta'? Is 'tot' interchangeable with 'tōtus/tōtum/tōta' in some cases?

@@thoranevans4832 Iirc, "tot" means "that many"/"this amount (of)", while "tōtus" could be translated as "all' or "whole", they are very different things. Thus, "inter tot fulgura" is quite literally "through this many lightnings", you can remember it as "quot? tot!", or "how many? this many!"; while, e.g., "Jam amōre virginālī tōtus ardeō" means (roughly) "Now all of me burns (= I burn completely) because of (my) virginal love".
