As a German living in the US, I've also noticed that a lot of jokes in the US are pun based. Even though I understand most of them, it's not my type of humor. It feels like dad jokes - very tame. Maybe that's why Germans are always accused of having no humor - because humor is so regionally different. I like British humor like 8 Out of 10 Cats or dark humor like Anthony Jeselnik.

I am a 76 year old man so I have not seen the movie "Frozen", hense the joke meant nothing to me. The "ketchup" joke was good however because it is based on general knowledge i.e. everyone knows ketchup just like Coca Cola or Kleenex. The nose/foot joke was humoruos too. In answer to your last joke, a salad bar is an area in some restaurants that have salad making food items that you can select from and put on your plate, for example cucumbers. The other kind of "bar" is an alcoholic drink establishment where you can sit on a stool at a long table (bar) and drink and is often where people go to meet for a "date". So it is a play on words with two words that are spelled the same and sound the same but have two different meanings.

For those who don’t understand the last joke about cucumbers going to a salad bar on date night, here is the meaning of the joke: Cucumbers are often toppings that are put on salad. They can be found at a salad bar, which is a station with a lot of different salad toppings to put on your salad. Now, a date is usually a romantic event for two people to get to know one another. You can have a date at a restaurant, movie theater, or… a bar! A bar is a place where you can purchase alcoholic beverages. So where do cucumbers go on date night? The salad bar!
