I have this struggle with focusing on one thing... In a dream I had a vision of a symbol with 5 prongs on a pedestal, like a candelabra; it was as though a representation of 3 paths I considered, among other things (such as past, present, future), surrounded by the two outer-prongs like a parabola of form/formlessness. It was tied to the word polyvalent and appeared on a paper bag filled with temptations that people were trying to use as a way to lure me out of hiding, but I resisted because I knew they wanted to hurt me (because I was kind to them, of all things). Fear sometimes comes with focus and can tempt one towards lacking it. This is what I struggle with in regards to the law of attraction and karma, because even one's best of intentions can go awry or be misinterpreted. Some of the most harshly prosecuted individuals in our history were the most loving. How they conquered their fear to go on regardless is a wonder to me; I can conceptualize it but I cannot (yet) inhabit it.

Usually when people refer to karma, e.g., they say “Bad karma”, they imply that karma is the reaction or the result of what one did before. But according to ancient wisdom, Karma actually means the action itself. The action a person takes will determine what type of karmic reaction there will be. According to the law of karma there will be an equal reaction or karmic fruit to each action that one takes. We have to understand that the law of karma is one of the material laws and will always work perfectly. Sometimes it may seem that a criminal gained a lot when he is not caught by the law enforcement in this world. But no one can escape from the law of karma. Sooner or later, it may even be in the next lifetime, a person will have to pay the price for what they did. It is possible then for a person to be a good person in this lifetime, but because of something bad that they did in a previous lifetime, they now have to experience a bad karmic reaction. It can be hard to accept sometimes, but we need to appreciate that the law of karma is always fair and just because it is under the control of the Supreme Lord. We will never receive something which is unfair in the big picture. It can be said that the law of karma is for educational purposes so that we learn to make better choices, that we take responsibility for the choices and actions that we take.
