This makes so much sense. I work for an engineering firm and have been looking FOREVER for a video that actually uses a complicated system. Thank you!

This is amazing! I see that this is the only video on your channel, this sad. We would love to see more, I'm sure that if you post more you will gain a lot of followers. I watched a lot of other videos and none of them show this much of details or how to apply it exactly like you did. Thank you!

This was very eye opening after my second viewing. Had to give it a couple of days to tear down my initial approach to how I wanted to set up my project which didn't seem to work. After giving my mind a couple days rest and rewatching this my eyes are opened to rework my workflow. Got some great tips from this. Great Job! Will let you know how it turns out.

Sometimes I have to take a step back and draw it out, or refocus to make sure I hit the end goal with all the work. It's still a lot of trial and error. Hopefully it worked out well for you!

This is helpful! the link is no longer working - its not longer pulling through from the other board how can i fix this?

Usuleful, thanks! I am trying to have a board for each client project and then have a summary board for all the projects for that 1 client. I will then look to have another summary board for all client projects. Bit of a Russian doll! From what you've shown I will start with the details and work my way up!

Glad it was helpful! Working from the details up with the end result in mind will help a ton as you build these complex multi-project boards. Let us know how it goes!

Super helpful. I wish you had spoken a bit to the permissions settings. We're desperately trying to find a way to flow certain information from our internal boards to the clients boards. I'm sure there's a workaround, but I can't find it yet. Wondering if this might be an answer.

Some of the recent updates make the dashboards easier to share with clients or stakeholders. They wouldn't be able to change items themselves, so depending on your use there may be other solutions. Have you found any workarounds?
@Proximian Жыл бұрын
You can create views that hide/show specific columns for an overview on the same board. By selecting the correct view, you can show only the columns and information related to the view. This can be done without using mirror columns or multiple boards. The scenario would be that the stakeholders can open the project board, click on the view they care about, and only see the information that matters.

This was really helpful, thank you! Thoughts on the utility of summary boards vs summary dashboards?
@thewozco Жыл бұрын
I'm using summary dashboards more and more since Monday.com has made some great updates with how dashboards work and the kind of data that can be pulled from them.

Interesting. Thanks. Any way to make new items appear from detail to progress without having to create that item again
@thewozco Жыл бұрын
The easiest way is probably with some of the newer dashboard features, they finally allow us to capture all the new info that's added without having to manually select every new item or board to link.

Hi there - thanks this was helpful. I'm facing a challenge with my boards. I have a MAIN board that has a lot of fo data columns, including a field X. I need to create a summary board that has only data from a particular field X. I did the mirrors but i have to manually select checkboxes that are field X. Is that how it should work? Or do you have any thoughts what to do. Secondly, does the summery board auto update when new items are added to MAIN board? I guess I need an automation rule? Thank you for your advise.

Great Video! But, how can I copy/link the first column? I want to have a detail board and when I enter a new link on that detail it will added to another board too with different columns. Is this possible?

Amazing tutorial. It was super helpful!!! Still I am struggling with something... I work for a BIM Ecourse and my task is to manage Support, Resources, Ecourse updates, and Workflow processes. I have a board for support questions and FAQ, another board for the development of resources for students (revit families, templates, etc.) and my current task is to develop 2 boards. The first is one that will be shared with the students to see the progress of development of the resources and updates to keep students up to date with the released resources and updates (but this two things are not in one board together, but in different boards). Do you have any suggestions on how I could do it? Because when we link a board, we link one a single board. Is there a way of doing such a thing?

@@landonleger9188 not really. I tried through several ways, but not great success. If you find a way, would you be so kind to share? Thanks!

I'm having the same issue. Seems pretty remedial that each project (board) will be separate in order to have all of the associated tasks, yet in order to "connect" each project respectively to an upper level board is an absolute mess, as a new column needs to be created for each connection. This seems like the most basic functionality that would be needed, yet... I keep hitting roadblocks. I must be missing something. Also when I ask anyone from Monday for help, they go about 2000 miles per hour and end up on a sales pitch about how great the tool is while STILL not explaining how to do the most basic functionality. I'm about to rip the hair out of my head!!!!

You lost me @1:40 when you said the templates are not what I use, then stumbled creating a blank board. If you can't do it seamlessly, why should I try?

Everything you describe lacks automation. You never mention if there is a way to have new items added to an original board automatically show up automatically in one of the linked board. I also find it hard to believe that all the item names have to be retyped in the item column after you link the column. Sorry, this video was really not very helpful.
