This is, without question, my favorite storyline that you've done: it mixes the rising tension and suspicion of something like John Carpenter's The Thing with a sharp left turn when it's revealed what's *really* going on, as well as the foreshadowing that allows a sufficiently canny viewer to figure out what things have gone wrong and when.

Caleb Mayfield Some would actually call it "cosmic horror", most famous in books H.P. Lovecraft of like call of Cthulhu or at the mountaind of madness. In cosmic horror it usally involves the protagonist realizing how scary a meaningless universe is when confronting God's they can't truly comprehend and have no chance of self defense against because they are that powerful. Wisecrack has a couple videos on the subject that goes into depth, but the entity like an elder god or Cthulhu is an all powerful creature whose existence seemingly makes Linkara insignificant, and the only possible way to deal with one such as itself is for it to do it for you or just ignor you

That's my story as well. I remember seeing Linkara in several reviews with the NC, so I decided to check him out. When I saw a storyline playlist, I started there, usually skipping to the storyline bits. His 200th episode (One More Day) was the first review I watched through and through. Since then I have watched many more of his reviews (though I still skip a few; I mostly watch the reviews on superhero comics or other properties I know about like Star Trek and such). Now, Linkara is tied with Nostalgia Critic for my favorite KZbin series. If I just want to kill an hour or so, I watch one of the NC's reviews, but if I want to binge, I go back and watch through the storyline playlist. They're like movies online for free (and in many ways better than most movies these days). You're channel is Awesome Linkara!

Have to say, that speech to defeat the Entity was perfect. And it is also poking fun at stories where the big bad wants to control everything. But the best part was expectation subversion. After what it took to defeat Insano, Countdown, Mechakara, twice, and Vice, when I first saw this I expected there to be one last thing that saved everyone and started a big battle, but that isn't what happened. Instead, it was a speech. A grand speech, and a question. Perfection. Truly, utter, perfection.

Brainiac's MO is to absorb all information in the universe, which would essentially make him a god, and Lex asks him, "then what?" and proposes they become one with his own intellect and imagination to do something with that kind of godhood when it is all and said and done. Do wonder if that inspired this sequence at all?

XD OH HELL YEAH!!! NOW THIS HANDS DOWN IS MY FAVORITE AT4W STORYARC!!! And what a good time to get into the show. I was already fresh off my binge watching from people like Phelous and Film Brain, but even me as someone who never had an interest in comics beforehand decided to watch Atop the Fourth Wall and I was immediately hooked in by not only the reviews themselves, but also by the characters like 90s Kid, Harvey Finevoice, PoIIo and Liz. But what captured my interest the most was seeing something abduct Dr Linksano at the end of The Backstreet Project Review. What was this Entity? what the hell was going on? And why is it taking Linkara's allies and enemies? Needless to say I was hooked and feverishly looking for all the hints as to what this creature could be, looking for all the creepy messages and wanting to see who was gonna get taken next and how Linkara was gonna get outta this one. But the build up of The Entity was by far the most genius thing about the arc as well as the creature itself methodically choosing how to consume each world so that it could become part of itself. Not to mention it seemed to love playing with people as much as it did go in and consume them... Whether that be part of its Outer God ego or something unique to the Entity itself I'm not sure but either way it made The Entity one of the creepiest villains the show's ever had. Plus the reveal of someone as unsuspecting as 90s Kid was absolutely terrifying.

As such, I looked up that review, unaware that this review series also had an ongoing plot, so you can probably imagine my annoyance when I discovered that I had just spoiled myself of the climax of perhaps the best plot in the show, at least up to this point. I rewound, and Siri activated again at almost the exact same timestamp--but before I could shut if off manually, the words "shut up" appeared where the transcription of a voice command appears, but the Siri screen vanished a split second after those words appeared. I freaked and unplugged the charger cable, then rewound one more time to make sure it wasn't just an addition to the video. This time it played fine, no Siri. The REALLY freaky part? Dear Linkara, You didn't even have a fraction of a hollywood film budget, and yet you managed to produce a story that had kept me frightened throughout the duration of the arc. This is masterful storytelling, keeping the suspense alive, world building and adding to the lore of the story and characters, and terrifying me with a friggin' game glitch! And of course, the climax of the story wasn't a big action set piece, but instead a stand-off between a mere mortal and a god of the upper echelons, where not only did the mortal convince the god to kill itself, but the mortal made me believe that it is better to live as a mere human being, than to live as a grandiose, unknowable entity. To this day, my favorite line of yours is "No Heaven To Aspire To, No Hell To Avoid." 10/10 A Piece of the World is Missing is one of your best arcs (which was followed up by a great sequel years later with another amazing storyline), combining horror with goofy internet reviewer adventures and making it much better than what we usually get from movie companies. First video of yours I watched was the Planet of the Symbiotes review. Boy did this story catch me by surprise.

This is my favourite story line and this story line had the first episode I ever watched thank you Lewis
@nicholashurst7803 жыл бұрын
I'm pretty sure in the story line or two this gets referred to as tricking The Entity into killing itself but is this really a trick? This just seems like an honest assessment

“Oh it’s true; I’m overweight and I look silly in this-“ I respectfully disagree. ANYONE who wears the Green Ranger outfit immediately looks badass.

Also I just realised, Linkara, you got your wish with Pokken Tournament. Did you play it?

I miss Benzai and Sad Panda, even though they are now doing their own things in French KZbin I guess.

MoonSpirit The saddest part was that blip.tv destroyed a bunch of Sad Panda's work in English.

Shame really. I laughed my ass off watching his Tutorial videos. I'll miss his English deadpan.

I'd love to know, myself. Were people here hostile to them? If so, fuck those responsible.

Throughout the years lately, former CA people talked bad about the higher-ups of Channel Awesome, primarily about Mike Michaud and Rob Walker, especially from Obscurus Lupa and Phelous. I don't know the details, but I rather not let such drama get to me.

yes they're and it's great actually. I'm pretty sure some of their video have subtitles, so you can go to search them in KZbin

Don't know if anyone else noticed, they probably did, but the entity say "human" except it's drawn out

Kinda funny how we actually did get an actual Pokémon fighting game and a sandbox game like Linkara mentioned.

Still don't know how Linkara clued into who The Entity was based on the word "heavy." "Heavy is a po..." what was he going to say?
@dms96627 жыл бұрын
Torrie Garvin I've always heard it as "Heaviest po...". As in, 'heaviest pokemon'.
@Zenacra7 жыл бұрын
MissingNo. was the heaviest Pokemon in Red and Blue. He's saying "heaviest," not "heavy is a."

Because "heavy" is an 80's slang.
