I see now that I can start a design in photo with some linked vector objects and then open that in Designer and it respects the Link properties. But there is no Links panel I can see for generating this behavior there. It's a fantastic tool, but something I would be more likely to want to use in Designer.

Two years ago, being precise and measured with your speech was a good thing! I do it so the videos are easy to understand for non-native English speakers. Now, it seems everyone just assumes it's "AI" ☹

If you ask me Affinity Photo is taking a turn for the worse. Version 2 is now packed with intricate more or less hidden operations for doing either very subtle image editing or things that nobody really desperately needs. The whole product has become so complicated that the user only knows that about 50% of the functionality even exists, can only handle about 20% and actually uses just 5%. This is the wrong way to go. What we users need is AI support at all levels. For starters, AI for making selections. The product and its usage should be simplified, not complicated.

Why do you say “we users” when you mean “I myself”? And why do you need a product that is not for you to be for you, instead of using for example Pixelmator Pro? It’s like saying why is this drama film not funny instead of just watching a comedy.

@@varnas9969 Well, I have been using Affinity for quite some time now and have, as a programmer' followed its development and de-bugging quite closely. I have also followed the development of other tools. At the moment there is a strong trend to implement AI and my feeling is that Affinity could possibly miss the bus. Have I understood you correctly? You do not want AI put in e.g. for doing selections? 🥰 Or for sharpening like Topaz?

Somebody must need this Linked Layers feature because it's in Photoshop too. Serif is trying to compete with Adobe, not just appeal to novice users. They don't want users of Photoshop to feel they're giving up functionality by switching to Affinity Photo. Having said that, I agree with you that users of Photoshop will also want Affinity Photo to support the AI features they have come to rely on.
