This will sound really pretentious, but the typical lp fans just weren't ready for this album. They wanted a nu metal album, but instead they got an experimental concept album about nuclear warfare.
@magtinfal7908

I think the reason behind the hate is because their first 2 albums just set the bar so high for them. I mean don't get me wrong I still love this album

With this one they were clearly ahead of the time. I remember how dissapointed i was when i first heard this album (I was like 14 back then). I wished they would sound like hybrid theory again. But after all the time since then i would put this album in the Top 3 of all their albums. (Doesen't change the fact that One more light is by far their worst work)

Listen to this songs individually or in a "best of" is completely different from listening them here. This is a PRIME EXAMPLE of what an album needs to be. Its glorious, even those short tracks making a conection between the main ones. I'll miss you forever Chester.

This is by far their best work. The purest essence of LP. No crappy pop as the latest release, nor the nu metal of the beginning (yes I said it). You can feel the effort, inspiration and passion they put through every single second of this masterpiece, and the concept beyond is enormous too. They settled the target high and they nailed it. This album is so underrated. Miss these guys.

This business of burning human beings with napalm, of filling our nation's homes with orphans and widows, of injecting poisonous drugs of hate into the veins of peoples normally humane, of sending men home from dark and bloody battlefields physically handicapped and psychologically deranged, cannot be reconciled with wisdom, justice, and love..." You were standing in the wake of devastation You were waiting on the edge of the unknown With the cataclysm raining down Inside's crying save me now You were there impossibly alone Do you feel cold and lost in desperation You build up hope but failure's all you've known Remember all the sadness and frustration And let it go Let it go And in a burst of light that blinded every angel As if the sky had blown the heavens into stone You felt the gravity of tempered grace Falling into empty space No one there to catch in their arms Do you feel cold and lost in desperation You build up hope but failure's all you've known Remember all the sadness and frustration And let it go Let it go Do you feel cold and lost in desperation You build up hope but failure's all you've known Remember all the sadness and frustration And let it go Let it go Let it go Let it go Let it go Do you feel cold and lost in desperation You build up hope but failure's all you've known Remember all the sadness and frustration And let it go Let it go I'm swimming through the smoke Of bridges I have burned So don't apologize I'm losing what I don't deserve It's in the blackened bones Of bridges I have burned So don't apologize I'm losing what I don't deserve I'm swimming through the smoke Of bridges I have burned So don't apologize I'm losing what I don't deserve It's in the blackened bones Of bridges I have burned So don't apologize I'm losing what I don't deserve God bless us everyone We're a broken people living under a loaded gun And it can't be outfought It can't be outdone It can't be outmatched It can't be outrun No God bless us everyone We're a broken people living under a loaded gun And it can't be outfought It can't be outdone It can't be outmatched It can't be outrun No And when I close my eyes tonight To symphonies of blinding light (God bless everyone We're a broken people living under a loaded gun) Like memories in cold decay Transmissions echoing away Far from the world of you and I Where oceans bleed into the sky God save us everyone Will we burn inside the fires of a thousand suns For the sins of our hands The sins of our tongue The sins of our fathers The sins of our young No God save us everyone Will we burn inside the fires of a thousand suns For the sins of our hands The sins of our tongue The sins of our fathers The sins of our young No And when I close my eyes tonight To symphonies of blinding light (God save us everyone Will be burn inside the fires of a thousand suns) Like memories in cold decay Transmissions echoing away Far from the world of you and I Where oceans bleed into the sky Like memories in cold decay Transmissions echoing away Far from the world of you and I Where oceans bleed into the sky Lift me up Let me go 16x God bless us everyone We're a broken people living under a loaded gun And it can't be outfought It can't be outdone It can't be outmatched It can't be outrun No God bless us everyone We're a broken people living under a loaded gun And it can't be outfought It can't be outdone It can't be outmatched It can't be outrun When you feel all alone Cut off from this cruel world Your instincts tell you to run Listen to your heart Those angel voices They'll sing to you They'll be your guide back home When life leaves us blind Love keeps us kind It keeps us kind When you've suffered enough And your spirit is breaking Your growing desperate from the fight Remember your love And you always will be This melody will bring you right back home When life leaves us blind Love keeps us kind When life leaves us blind Love keeps us kind

God save us everyone Will we burn inside the fires of a thousand suns For the sins of our hands Sins of our tongue Sins of our father The sins of our young God save us everyone Will we burn inside the fires of a thousand suns For the sins of our hands Sins of our tongue Sins of our father The sins of our young "We knew the world would not be the same. A few people laughed, a few people cried, most people were silent. I remembered the line from the Hindu scripture, the Bhagavad-Gita. Vishnu is trying to persuade the Prince that he should do his duty, and to impress him, takes on his multi-armed form, and says, 'Now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds.' I suppose we all thought that, one way or another." I use the deadwood to make the fire rise The blood of innocence burning in the skies I filled my cup with the rising of the sea And poured it out in an ocean of debris I'm swimming in the smoke Of bridges I have burned So don't apologize I'm losing what I don't deserve What I don't deserve I held my breath as clouds began to form But you were lost in the beating of the storm But in the end we were meant to be apart Like separate chambers of the human heart I'm swimming in the smoke Of bridges I have burned So don't apologize I'm losing what I don't deserve It's in the blackened bones Of bridges I have burned So don't apologize I'm losing what I don't deserve What I don't deserve I'm swimming in the smoke Of bridges I have burned So don't apologize I'm losing what I don't deserve The blame is mine alone For bridges I have burned So don't apologize I'm losing what I don't deserve What I don't deserve What I don't deserve What I don't deserve I use the deadwood to make the fire rise The blood of innocence burning in the skies I am not a pattern to be followed The pill that I'm on is a tough one to swallow I'm not a criminal, not a role model Not a born leader, I'm a tough act to follow I am not the fortune and the fame Or the same person telling you to forfeit the game I came in the ring like a dog on a chain And found out the underbelly's sicker than it seems And it seems ugly but it can get worse Because even a blueprint is a gift and a curse Because once you got a theory of how the thing works Everybody wants the next thing to be like the first And I'm not a robot, I'm not a monkey I will not dance even if the beat's funky Opposite of lazy, far from a punk Ya'll ought to stop talking and start trying to catch up motherfucker And all the people say Try and catch up motherfucker Lauren said money changes situation Big said it increase the complication Kane said don't step I ain't the one Chuck said an uzi weighs a motherfucking tone And I'm just a student of the game that they taught me Rocking every stage in every place that they brought me I'm awfully underrated but came here to correct it And so it ain't mistaken I'm gonna state it for the record I am the opposite of wack, opposite of weak Opposite of slack synonym of heat synonym of crack, closest to a beat Far from a punk Ya'll ought to stop talking and start trying to catch up motherfucker And all the people say Try and catch up motherfucker But when they come for me Come for me, I'm gone But when they come for me Come for me, I'm gone But when they come for me Come for me, I'll be gone And all the people say Try to catch up motherfucker And all the people say Try to catch up motherfucker You say you’re not going to fight Because no one will fight for you That you think there's not enough love And no one to give it to That your sure you've hurt for so long You've got nothing left to lose You say your not going to fight Because no one will fight for you You say the weight of the world Has kept you from letting go And you think compassion's a flaw But you'll never let it show And your sure you've hurt in a way That no one will ever know But someday the weight of the world Will give you strength to go Hold on the weight of the world Will give you the strength to go So hold on the weight of the world Will give you the strength to go So hold on the weight of the world Will give you the strength to go Just hold on the weight of the world Will give you the strength to go This is not the end, this is not the beginning Just a voice like a riot rocking every revision But you listen to the tone and the violent rhythm Though the words sound steady something's empty within them We say yeah with fists flying up in the air Like we're holding onto something that's invisible there Because we're living at the mercy of the pain and the fear Until we dead it, forget it let it all disappear Waiting for the end to come Wishing I had strength to stand This is not what I had planned It's out of my control Flying at the speed of light Thoughts were spinning in my head So many things were left unsaid It's hard to let you go I know what it takes to move on I know how it feels to lie All I want to do Is trade this life for something new Holding on to what I haven't got Sitting in an empty room Trying to forget the past This wasn't meant to last I wish it wasn't so I know what it takes to move on I know how it feels to lie All I want to do Is trade this life for something new Holding on to what I haven't got What was left when that fire was gone I thought it felt right but that right was wrong All caught up in the eye of the storm And trying to figure out what it's like moving on And I don't even what kind of things I said My mouth kept moving and my mind went dead So I'm picking up the pieces, now where to begin The hardest part of ending is starting again All I want to do Is trade this life for something new Holding onto what I haven't got I'm holding on to what I haven't got I'm holding on to what I haven't got This is not the end, this is not the beginning Just a voice like a riot rocking every revision But you listen to the tone and the violent rhythm Though the words sound steady something's empty within them We say yeah with fists flying up in the air Like we're holding onto something that's invisible there Because we're living at the mercy of the pain and the fear Until we dead it, forget it let it all disappear
