@@HitlerGaymes123 Controversial opinion, goddamn, but it has some truth to it. Chester was the face of the band, but Mike Shinoda is what pulled the band together in the first place with their mix of different genres (mainly rock & rap at this point), and heck, this song in particular is the final version of a song called "Rhinestone" which has been in the works ever since 1997 or even earlier. Shinoda's been there ever since the start with the rap parts, but before Chester joined, it was someone else, Mark Wakefield. This is the earliest version I could find, kzbin.info/www/bejne/bqS6e6qQfbmrkNk . There's a much more easy-to-find version that's much later when you just google "Rhinestone Linkin Park", and you can find an early version with Chester by searching "Forgotten Demo". However, there's one thing in common with all of them: Mike Shinoda.

Mike is the key member, but Chester's voice was one of a kind, Mike knew that and utilized his voice to make amazing music. And Chester did contribute as a lyricist and songwriter, just not as much songwriting and producing as Mike.

At the end of the day, both Chester and Shinoda complemented each other’s styles- like Jimmy Page and Robert Plant. Page wrote most if not all of the music AND lyrics for Led Zeppelin before Plant began to write on that fourth, untitled album, despite the latter being the “face” of the band.
