@MrZip420 dudes, honestly, If LP actually hired a male lead, I'd agree. Because they have a female singer, LP sounds like the band Garbage, if yalls ever heard of that band. They rocked pretty hard back in the day. I just don't hear LP with a female singer. I hear the band Garbage 2.0. Pop/rock/grunge
@TheinfamouskiraАй бұрын
I think they intentionally played it safe structurally and production wise because of Emily. It was her first LP record, so that kind of took the album "theme," that usually allows them to tie an album together and give it a distinct sound. I'm explaining it poorly, but you know what I mean: Hybrid Theory and Meteora were straight nu-metal. Minutes To Midnight had a stadium rock vibe. A Thousand Suns was the experimental concept album. Living Things was nu-metal in contemporary production. The Hunting Party was dipping into metal and prog rock. One More Light was pop/soft rock. These album "themes," and soundscapes worked because we had two albums to learn what Linkin Park's base sound is, so the experimental or genre bending stuff had a sturdy core. With Emily, Colin (and Alex live) there are already so many new things for listeners to acclimate to that being traditionally out there and adventurous could dilute the identity of the band. Mike and the guys probably decided that it was best to go with a traditional "LP," sound for the album to reaffirm that the record is in fact, Linkin Park. I think in LP lore, this album probably has the most interesting story from inception and beyond release. I'm sure we'll be hearing stories from the band, production, WB guys, tour dudes, etc for years.

To be fair, Hybrid Theory and Meteora is what defined them. Minutes to midnight is a good album, after that it goes bad, fast. So, they more or less start making good music again, not still making good music. (Hunting party was 50/50 good/bad)
@CL8771Ай бұрын
@Braamsery1992 at the time of release I hated a thousand suns, but today it's probbaly my favourite. Living things and hunting party have their moments. @@MartinJurus Definitely, its my opinion. I just think, that most that grew up with the first things, were more dissappointed with the later things. Its always the own opinion, but this goes more in the early/mid 2000s, which, for the most likely majority of fans, was the best time.
@MartinJurusАй бұрын
@@Braamsery1992 It's always like that. We grow up with a soundtrack to our childhood / adolescence and as we're getting older, there is this underlying want for things to stay the same, because that feels safe. But nothing ever stays the same and the sooner we accept that, the sooner we can start confidently moving on - same goes for musicians. LP understood that pretty early on after Meteora and it was inevitable. It hurts, but it moves you along the path. Look at bands like Limp Bizkit for example. They haven't changed and where are they right now?
@stryfer1989Ай бұрын
From Zero feels like a fast trip through every Linkin Park era. Just like every album they released wasn't a favorite, every track here isn't gonna be a favorite, but man does it ever come together in a rich variety package showcasing exactly what Linkin Park has been all this time - an ever-shifting, ever-evolving band that makes music around whatever they feel at the time.

Couple quick tips about the hair dye: 1. A little Vaseline on the skin around your hairline can help prevent it from lingering on the skin. 2. After rinsing out the dye, if there is still residue on the skin, take an emollient makeup remover balm and apply it to the stain, let it sit for a few minutes then wipe off, it will dissolve and take off a lot of the stain. Repeat if needed. Enjoy and take care!

There's loads of easter eggs throughout the album (a Xero callback in Overflow, a Hybrid Theory EP callback in IGYEIH, plus others) and the album cycles back into itself, which is a production concept I really like. Overall, I really like this album and I think LP did amazing work on their first album with their new lineup. Also my 6-year-old absolutely loves the new Linkin Park, almost as much as she loves Ash to Ashes, so her and I bond over the new stuff. I guess I'm an oddity. I've never been more than a casual fan of Linkin Park and have never really gone back and deep-dived beyond their most well known tracks (due in part to just how many have tried to copy their sound over the years I think)...but what I have become in the last few years is a HUGE fan of female lead vocalists and while I wasn't super-aware of Emily before Emptiness Machine, I did immediately get excited for this album and every single has been top notch for me. Can't wait to head to my local record store this weekend and pick this up on vinyl.

I've never been the kinda person to just listen to just specific styles. I have certain bands / music groups that I prefer, and I like the sound they bring to every genre they touch. Linkin Park is one of my favorites because they haven't stayed in one place musically, and I enjoy the heck out of all their albums.
This record has been growing on me enormously since it came out, the first listen left me a bit confused whether I liked it or not, but the more I listened, the more I've been loving every single track. They really did a good job of implementing Emily into the LP sound, whilst bringing back some old-school sound, and also carrying on the modernish sounds from one more light.

I'm a GenZ poser. My mother made me listen to Linkin Park and to me, there's nothing better in music. Also, From Zero is top tier and I love it.

No such thing as a poser. A Linkin Park fan is a Linkin Park fan. I'm not a fake Beetles fan just because they were before my time. We are always happy to have fans of all ages.

I love how the From Zero opening track is such an abrupt, heavenly synth note, cuts to a joke about the title, and gets to the point. AND THEN, by the time Good Things Go has you bawling in tears, the songs ends as suddenly as the album started. But then NOT EVEN A SECOND is given for the listener to process what just happened, when a rising synth note suddenly shows up at the end. And if you have the album on loop, Good Things Go loops DIRECTLY back into From Zero. My first time listening to the opening track had me feeling like a "heavenly, back from the dead" vibe, but hearing From Zero just after the end of Good Things Go recontextualizes it into a "HEY! GET BACK UP! WE'RE STILL MOVING FORWARD!". It's so subtle and strange, but really nails the theme of the album to me.

As a fan from the Meteora and Hybrid Theory era, I really like this album and the variation. And as a musician who appreciates most genres, I think with aiming towards a wider crowd was a smart move. I like the fact that I can listen to the same bands formula fused with other genres, keeps it entertaining. Honestly, this is what defines LINKIN PARK and their hybrid theory.

Some songs sound like they were produced by Steven Wilson. That's nice. I get some prog vibes with some of the songs. I don't know if it's just me. Great work LP! That is what I'll say.
