Girl does need to clean up her chops. if the intention is to revive these songs as much as possible then The Linkin Park sound with Chester has always been super clean, even when singing with distortion Chesters growls were harmonically pleasing and healthy and he always had control. Her distortion is often overused, and she strains too much. I don't care if she "Sounds" like chester but taking some notes on how Chester carefully approached and balanced his sound and vocal workload will help her survive a tour. I also think that for some songs lowering the key back to the original will still sound amazing. Some of these transpositions felt too high for her. Im just glad the boys are back, mostly.

@@briand1322 I think it's important to acknowledge that people process grief and nostalgia differently. For many, music and the artists they admire become deeply intertwined with personal memories and emotions, and losing someone like Chester can feel like losing a piece of their own history. Whether someone knew Chester personally or not doesn’t make their feelings any less valid. It’s a testament to the impact he had on people’s lives. The Mercedes-Benz CLR GTR was a prototype race car developed by Mercedes-Benz for the FIA GT Championship in the late 1990s. The car featured a sleek and aerodynamic design with a low-slung body and aggressive styling. It was powered by a 6.9-liter V12 engine producing over 600 horsepower, allowing it to reach top speeds of over 200 mph. The CLR GTR made its racing debut in 1999 but unfortunately 19.5K gained notoriety for a series of high-profile accidents during the season. The most infamous incident occurred at the 1999 24 Hours of Le Mans, where the car became airborne at high speed and flipped over multiple times before crashing back onto the track. The car was subsequently withdrawn from the race, and Mercedes-Benz ultimately decided to discontinue the CLR GTR project. Despite its short-lived racing career, the Mercedes-Benz CLR GTR remains a legendary and iconic car in motorsport history, known for its striking design and impressive performance capabilities.

Chester Bennington was a once in a generation talent. No singer could ever replace him. After listening to this full live stream twice, I could not be happier with the direction they chose. There’s something in Emily’s voice that reminds me of Chester, especially when she screams. Yet her voice is so unique and different that it does not feel like an attempt to replace him. Today, being 27, I cried once more for this group. Some of those songs will saty with me until the end, my end. There'll always be a "with Chester" and a "After Chester" but his memory lives on, within everyone of us. We cared as that light went out. And today, you're proving that in the end, it matters. Honestly, can’t imagine the level of nerves and pressure Emily had to be feeling. But when you really listen, she learned every strain in Chester’s voice, and I love that grit to her cleans. I think the screams are in place of a guy who literally influenced the metal genre as much as the rock. I think her harsh yells are freaking sick. It’s the emotion in the songs. That’s what we needed. We got it. She really did a great job, and this was something we’ve all wondered about for years. Chester would’ve loved this.
@derekrose33282 ай бұрын
Dude that’s EXACTLY what I was saying! Because the thing is, Chester largely stopped doing those strains and grit, and I really, really missed that. In that regard she brought back something that Chester had stopped, and I’ve been chomping at the bit to hear it live again. She even hit the little ones in What I’ve Done! But for more massive instances? For many years I’ve been dying to hear, “Lying From You,” at all, and I’ve been dying to hear, “Faint,” performed with grit and strain in a live setting again (Chester had switched to only doing it high pitched, and I honestly wasn’t crazy about that choice), yet Emily brought it back!! MASSIVELY brought it back‼️🙌 In a live capacity? She’s NAILING IT 🥳😝🤝 They’ve been my #1 band and role models (as business men, how they treat others, as creatives, and so on) for as long as l can remember. For over a decade I’ve been a paid member of LPU. And, this sounds mental, I know, but I’m in the top 0.1% of their listeners on Spotify.. So, that’s to say -this is coming from a MASSIVE Linkin Park fan - Emily is PERFECT for the role, and I see EXACTLY why they picked her. 🥳❤️🤝

Some people don't like AC/DC without Bon Scott, some people don't like Queen without Freddie Mercury, and some of you won't like Linkin Park without Chester. And that's okay! That's the beautiful thing about art and music is that we all respond differently to it. The albums with Chester aren't going anywhere. You will always have those to look back on and enjoy. But let Mike and the band heal and move forward, and make new music, and begin this new chapter in their lives. when Emily started singing Catalyst and her voice completely broke I was so worried that not only did she damage something but I was immediately dreading the crowd going silent or booing her. it took a moment for her to recover, but the thing I loved is how quickly the crowd picked up the song for her. and then close up of the front row, no one was angry or disapponted, all I saw were smiles cheering her on. it's a small moment but that coulda been a breaking point for anyone in her shoes. the bounce back was just amazing and the setlist was largely phenomenal from her. I also love that the crowd took to her so well that before the final song, Emily's name was being chanted. such a cool moment for her and I have no qualms with her as the new vocalist. "in the role of Chester... is each of you." a beautiful reminder that Emily is not here to replace, but honor the man himself. she did a phenomenal job.

People who "hate" on her need to understand this, it's okay if you don't like their choice to include her in the band, people are allowed to have their opinion. But if they have respect for her and want her in their band, she very much deserves to be there, like it or not.

i lost my dad at 9, and for some reason i cant explain, Castle of glass and roads untraveled became the 2 most important songs from LP even though they were released almost a decade later I just resonated with those songs, and i would get in a very special mood from them, i cant put into words what these songs made me feel, but im sure that they have done the most healing in relation to losing a parent that early in life - more than any professional help ever did, more than any other piece of music ever did, yet i always enter some type of sadness by hearing it - especially now So when using it here, while uncovering the instruments, i just lost it, it suddenly became so much more than the revival of one of my childhood favorites, it became more than "just" the reminder of the loss of Chester, and it became more than just a new beginning, i cant put into words what i feel hearing this, but i know that for me, there is so much more impact in this, just by hearing the intro Thanks LP for finding your new sound, i matters more that any of you can ever realise

Why are so many thinking this is the best thing ever? Everyone knows what this really is. A money grab and nothing else, which isn't my Main issue here, but at least have a bit of dignity and don't call the Band Linkin Park. Without Chester there shouldn't be a Linkin Park and there won't be one for me ever again no matter what they do. Rob was the only one that deserves praise for not doing it this way and being loyal and having respect for what this Band was about. Besides reading about how she doesn't believe in Mental illness is sickening knowing what happend with Chester.

To anyone doing it: Stop comparing Emily to Chester. Just stop. It's quite evident she was extremely nervous (and rightfully so). No one is going to replace Chester. The band knows this. Emily knows this and we know this. Chester is Chester. Emily is Emily. With that being said, they chose her for a reason. Give her time and let her become more comfortable with what she's been gifted.

Exactly. Just imagine what they will do when she gets 100%. To take the place as a singer in one of the most famous bands... Insanely hard, and with the legacy after Chester, come on people. Most have been so scary walking out into the lights. You would not have done better.
