look at the lyrics. they work for the league of legends side but if you look deeper mike and emily are also pushing back against those who want to resurrect chester from the grave or else force mike to kill his own band. the rage emily has at those people comes out in the scream. mike talking about it pouring in and how you cant win by surrendering without a fight, tired of explaining, no going back from this path once its begun (emily is a done deal, get over it) - waving a sword (the haters and keyboard warriors) when the pen wont miss (this SONG) it goes on and on. emily and 'heavy is the crown' shes saying she feels the weight of following chester but shes got this. and LINKIN PARK ARE BACK!

Now, Mike and whoever produces those tracks... those are smart people. They put the references in. The kind of obvious ones like the texture of the string sample that sounds like Faint, Mike’s rhythm at the end of the first verse that’s verbatim In The End, the second verse that’s kinda like Faint, the long-ass Given Up scream, those are intentional throwbacks. Like ease us in the new era, show us it’s still Linkin Park. I absolutely loved the bass in the verses, especially the second one, it’s pretty powerful. I love the sound of the drums too. Oh, and Emily? She’s killing it.

2:46 i get the same vibes too. just off the new singles "The Emptiness Machine" had some "Guilty All The Same" feeling and "Heavy Is The Crown" is more like a child of Faint and Rebellion but with some "Living Things" type of sound design. it really feels like "From Zero" album will mostly be inspired by "Living Things" and "The Hunting Party" in terms of the sound which to me fits Emily's voice perfectly. damn since their comaback it feels like something has reconnected in me after so many years. something important. just wanna say thank you to LP and the fans who give them all the support. we f*ckn back!!!

While you are listening to dead sara stuff, would also recommend this collab Emily Armstrong did with AWOLNATION called Jump sit Stand March. They have a music video that goes with it. I don't know how to explain it but its just so weird yet catchy and mesmerizing... I don't think its the usual style of Dead Sara but its really interesting how she is still able to showcase her quirkiness even when she is being featured as a guest on someone elses song. Living Things has several tracks that they could easily make _really_ heavy live by supporting the distorted synths and 808s with heavy guitars: Skin to Bones, Lies Greed Misery, Until it Breaks. In a lot of ways it sounds like a take, an evolution on their sound with guitars entirely substituted for synths.

It can't be said enough: the entire rollout of this comeback has been simply incredible. Do you realize how poorly this could've all gone? It's so HARD to do this, to reform the band after Chester's death and convince fans to embrace this next chapter. And for the music, thus far, to be THIS good, to feel so true to Linkin Park. I'm kind of in awe and I can't wait to see what the totality of this album sounds like.
