For Linkin Park songs, I’d really love to hear your take on The Messenger. I immediately thought of its lyrics when I heard of Chester’s death, and I feel it’s a message people need to hear right now. Also, the layering in the last chorus was ridiculously satisfying. ☺️ Love the contrast in tone between the rapping and sung vocals. His positioning is also really forward, while her’s was a lower rounder sound, especially at first, which is a bit subversive; you’d expect the lower male vocals to maybe be a bit darker in tambre, but he was super bright. Her brightening up the tone during the choruses was a great move. I’m not sure if it was an instinctive thing or if she was really pushing the sound forward actively but that change up kept it fresh. Super cool dynamics there! Can’t wait for the new single! I’m not a big fan of music videos using images of mental institutions and that general “aesthetic,” (bugs me that to some people it IS considered an aesthetic) because sometimes it just increases stigma, but knowing Halocene, I’ve got faith that it’s not a shock value exploitative thing and maybe about being misunderstood and labeled and put in a box (literally) because of something the experts don’t understand. I’m psyched about Lauren being featured on it. The singles lately have been absolutely fire. 🙌🏻

Honest feedback: I love your singing, but I was pretty close to writing this one off as "just not your song." Until 2:50 when your band mate came in with the growl and animosity this song needs. Before that your singing was too "soft and pretty" for this one, but once you began singing with him, you found your growl, and it was BEAUTIFUL! I adore the ending to this! You have a great growl when you use it, and the feeling behind this one just truly needs that spiteful gut punch feeling throughout this song. Your voice is beautiful, no matter what. 🥰
