He sang a lot of his songs as he wrote and sang this one, he said himself, his depression helped him write his music. I'm sure that he knew that he wouldn't make it, after Chris Cornell committed suicide, it made it so much more easier for Chester to. Linkin Park will never be the same, Chester is now and forever missed by the entire world.

The chorus is chester telling his family and fans to remember him as the guy who inspired people through music and just leave out all the rest like he knows that he will kill himself in the future and he doesn't want that to overshadow all the inspirational and positive things he's done. We heard you chester, we will always remember your songs.

Glad to be the first to comment on your response even though i hate the circumstance. I listened to him through everything even when happy. But when breaking up with a girl, when leaving a job with toxic people, and when my father died his music helped so much. Depression will never get me. I have choices in my life even though i like to believe i dont. I didnt have an abuser like him. Even though my life isn't the best i will take what ive learned from him and my great family and press on with a smile even though sometimes forced and just deal with life with the help of his voice as always, even though its harder now always knowing the man with that voice that helped me is gone i will work harder. And of course always thank him for the motivation now more then ever. Chester was and is my favorite, I hope he can sing again since he had a problem with his volcal cords, and will yell all the lyrics he made and wants to make in heaven

He dealt with thoughts of suicide for many, many years, before going through with it ten years later in 2017. After experiencing Chris Cornell’s suicide. He helped me too all these bands help me they probably don't know how many people that they are keeping sane right now well this song I know the meaning when well Chester passed he wanted to tell everyone especially his family to not resent him because he isn't as strong as those that when his time comes to not resent him for that it wasn't him it was the depression that took him but that he wants everyone to keep him in our memories so please to everyone who calls suicide selfish you have no idea what those people who are on the brink go through they fight a war every day and they all are different so not everyone is going to well be strong at that moment enough to get through another day even though they are the strongest people sometimes it gets to the point where they get so tired they aren't giving up they simply want the pain to end and feel as if there is no other way and sometimes when they feel helpless when it feels like no one cares it just gets to that point so don't blame them it wasn't them it was their heads in which the depression grew too much and I know sometimes that it is people's faults not theirs for example bullying and abuse it is the abuser who is at fault then but it is a very hard topic to talk about but just know to be there for them lend a hand when they need and DO NOT EVER get frustrated and impatient that's the last thing we need depression takes a lot of time to get better so don't blame him but keep him in your memories that's what he wished for forget all his mistakes and keep him close sorry for the grammar you all know what I'm getting at though thank you for whoever reads this it's just really important to get the message out I know Chester would want us to I just really do not like when people say such ignorant things when you call the victim of suicide selfish when they tried fighting for so long but it wasn't them who really wanted to they wanted the pain to end they are the strongest but to call them selfish is about as ignorant as bullying it's a horrible cycle I just get call me triggered I don't care but I get angry and sad to see this to know that those people with depression fight for our lives to try and get through the day that people who probably know little or nothing about mental illness just have to call the victim names and selfish it's just sad think of what his family would feel if they saw others calling him selfish and so on sorry now it's a rant anyway thanks for reading if you did well just pass on Chester's message that's what he wanted/needs thank you and Chester you definitely will be in all our memories he is definitely not in pain anymore

I may be the only one who relates with this, but nothing has changed about this song for me before or after his death. His songs were just as powerful before, but now it seems more people care and people think the songs are more powerful now because he's dead.

eileen fish my meaning is the songs from Chester are beautiful and very good a hunting party too how a light that never comes and the songs from him are telling us a history of a people that show his feelings in his songs we know the why after his death but we didn't really know what must be thoughts in his mind a little piece of the mankind can understand the decision from him I didn't know how they feel really but I can understand the why but I don't can't say that was good or so for my opinion he's gone to fast from us what I will say is the songs are telling us a history about his life how she thoughts and feel I'm sorry my English isn't very good excuse for little fails in the text

"I dreamed I was missing, you were so scared, but no one would listen, 'cause no one else cared". This is perfectly describing my situation right now. It's literally Chester referring to me. I've been devastated since he's gone, but no one cares. People think I'm crazy for mourning someone I've never met in person, but they don't understand how much he helped me with my struggles. Music is what keeps me alive. Linkin Park and other bands literally helped me finish high school. I never fit in anywhere, I lost many friends, I had serious health issues, teachers used to bully me on daily basis (finally, that's over) and so on... Whenever I felt alone I knew I wasn't completely alone; I had my bands to cheer me up and tell me it gets better. And it got better for me (even though I still have some problems). But now that someone who's been helping me lost his battle, I'm wondering if that means it never actually gets better? Does that mean it will never be over? I'm the winner now, but who knows what tomorrow brings? Anyway, people will never understand me, they won't understand my love for music and band members. My mother is like: "Why are you sad because of that? Why aren't you sad because of our family blah blah blah..." I just can't, okay? I can't feel the same about the family members who don't know me. None of them were with me in my hardest times, but you know who was - my bands. They are my family. Chester is my family and I lost him. I lost my family member, but no one cares. RIP MY HERO :(

I don't think you're crazy, and you're not alone. What you wrote describes me too &, I suspect, many in the #LPfamily. I'm too hurt to move forward, & it's too painful to look back. Chester wasn't "just another legend". Legends have this "untouchable" kind of vibe, but Chester never came across as untouchable - he was human like his fans, and he had an incredible gift that he shared with us all. I'll never stop missing him. I'm still wishing I'd wake up from this nightmare.

Might have... You don't just wake up one day and decide "I'm gonna kill myself today" (I realize that might sound like a joke - not my intention). I couldn't have said this better myself. It's not something that abruptly triggers it all of a sudden for some people, it's a slow build. I know because I like so many others have been dealing with it. It's a constant feeling inside, it doesn't go away. Chester was open about it, and that didn't help him. It's really sad.

You're leaving your memory, Rest in peace Chester. May you find peace, your legacy will always be remembered. Even if it's just in legends. You left your own reasons to be missed, you save so many others but, no one saved you. No one is perfect, we all have our faults, carry our scars. We have bruises and cuts from battles that no one knew we ever fought, some fresher than others, some still bleeding. The darkness fades into the night but, just because we do not see the light, Doesn't mean it isn't there. The light will shine bright on a new day, There's not alway a tomorrow but, we can always try. The wars leave us worn, broken, bruised, and bloody. And yes, some of our wounds are deadly but, we fight until we can't anymore, then we have to choose. Should we leave? Would anyone care? Am I selfish? Will I be missed? Ending you story isn't a bad thing. It just shows everyone that your wounds were unable to heal. Live your life while you still can, because you never know when it will end. Life is meaningful, if you need help getting out of a tight spot or just need someone to talk to, feel free to join this discord server, your voice will be heard. Promise. discord.gg/RxCgUV

Some of us saw the warning signs before the fact, even if we could do nothing. Now, everyone can see his cries for help in his music. But it's too late. Chester is dead. There's nothing we can do. What we can do, is make sure we see the warning signs in the people around us. Whatever you're doing today, look at your family, your classmates, your co-workers, and pay close attention. They might be next. Only we can stop it by being there for them.

I can't listen to this without crying. It's a song I've always planned to leave behind when I take my own life. Pure, raw lyrics and describes exactly how someone that's suicidal feels. We don't want you to hurt, or think bad things when we're gone. We need you to realise that this was our life and it was us that had to deal with the depression and pain. No one should be forced to live through such suffering. People can say it's selfish, but we had to go through it, not you. We didn't want to leave you. We didn't want to cause you pain but when someone has been suffering for so long and no amount of "help" has ever worked, there's only so much someone can take before they go over the edge. I wouldn't wish this feeling on my worst enemy

R.i.p Chester!!! This song helps me make it thru alot of days. I was in a head on car accident at 23 and flown to Baltimore shock trauma, wasn't supposed to make it but after a month and a half I was sent to a rehab to learn how to do everything all over again. That was in 2005 and I'm in worst shape now then when I left the hospital, I'm on oxygen cause I have a auto immune disease that has scarred my lungs and I'm not even 40 yet. It's been 17 years of hell. I live near some of the best hospitals in the country, Hershey, John Hopkins, University of Maryland and i can't find a surgeon to try to repair my hip. It fucking feels hopeless, i tell my doctor it would be nice to have a life and a family but I can barely take care of myself let alone other people. It's just hopeless really i don't know how i made it this long, music is the only thing keeping me grounded right now. I sit and cry every day wondering why me and give me a break after 17 years

- keeping you in our memory... so sad that even a million people can't save you from yourself. That's why it is important to show that we care to the people we love. We don't know what battle they are fighting within themselves

I never really thought about it since I've been listening to Linkin Park since I was little, but looking at the lyrics finally, I understand. Chester had it rough and was going through a lot. He fought it for so long and finally broke. Rest in peace, Chester. I hope he's found a better, happier place.
