RIP Chester :(, these guys were a huge part of my high school years. They were huge in the late 90's/early 2000's and had a lot of hits around that era, Crawling, In the End, One Step Closer, Numb, Pts. of Athrty, etc. You should listen to One More Light, it was one of their last songs before Chester passed away. The live versions are so powerful, he would get out into the crowd and sing the song while embracing them, one of the most raw and powerful performances I've seen an artist have. The videos labeled "Linkin Park - One More Light (Rock Werchter 2017)" and "Last Show Chester Bennington Linkin Park One More Light Birmingham 06.07.17" are both great.

Yeah, all of Linkin Park's music has a lot of energy. I would highly recommend you also react to their song "In The End". It's also one with a lot of deeper meaning and the musicality of it has always drawn me in. It's honestly what drew me to the band in the first place.

It is sad that all these great songs came from sexual abuse from an older teen who befriended him. The demons of these events are what caused him to take his own life.

I'm pretty sure Numb is one of Mike's songs. Mike has actually written almost all their songs. But of course, Chester's passion singing it comes from himself. He did co-write Crawling, and Easier to Run as well.

Lisa Picanso this is exactly why I heavily implore people to check on their friends & loved ones who have lost friends & loved ones to suicide. Birthdays are the hardest and from my understanding Chester took his life on Chris’s first birthday after death. I definitely felt it on my younger brother’s first birthday after death, and I feel it too on every single one of my birthdays since he took his life. It’s the hardest thing in the world and I don’t wish it on anyone.

RIP Chester, I have been a fan of Linkin Park since day one. Chester sang like an angel and screamed like a demon. He inspired so many people to help others and to love each other. Despite the struggles and problems that he faced himself. He gave us everything he had in his music and showed us something special. He helped so many. I seen a comment on a tribute for him after it was announced that he had taken his own life, "He saved millions and in the end millions couldn't save one." In the end he did matter, and it was a tragedy that he left us the way he did. But his memory lives on not just in his music but in the lives of his family and those he has had a strong impact on. There are plenty more songs by Linkin Park that are heartfelt and honest, there is something about them that just about everyone can relate to. I highly suggest listening to more of their songs! Especially "In the end" "One more light" (Especially this one.) "Heavy" is another good one, I could go on and on!

Thank you! I feel that its the honest truth! A lot of people complained in the past their lyrics were too main stream or corny. But I tend to disagree, there is a truth to them and regardless to how one interprets them, we can all find something to relate to in them. And that is what makes them so special :D

The music video it's a daughter and mother so you got it right !! Awesome reaction to one of my favorite bands of all time !! Unfortunately Chester was suffering from severe depression and in his last album that came out I believe right after or just before he took his own life you can really tell by his lyrics in an interview also he talked about it and he was a admitted perfectionist and after breaking his leg he no longer could preform with his normal energy without using something for pain and it sent him into a deep depression there is a video of him playing a board game with his family 30 some hours before he passed and he's laughing and joking that's how well he masked his depression !! If anyone knows anyone going through this type of depression or if you are Chester's wife has a foundation to help I will get the details and post it later if that's ok ? God bless and RIP Chester you will be missed !!

I learned to actually like their music too, because of my sons. I told them that you never know what someone carries deep in their souls that causes them to take their lives. What pain they must feel to think it's the only way out. We were all saddened by Chester Bennington's suicide. Just a thought from a "Ma" who loves her "guys" ❤.

Yes... The story goes that Chester suffered sexual abuse as a child from an older male and he had depression and substance abuse struggles from it. He had been doing great since joining LP, but when his best friend took his own life (Chris Cornell), that pushed Chester over the edge. On what would have been Chris Cornell's 53rd birthday, Chester took his own life the very same way Chris did... Hanging by belt strap. I urge you to watch the Jimmy Kimmel Live version of "One More Light" which was played the day Chris Cornell took his life. You can hear and see the pain Chester is going through. The official video to "One More Light" is a tribute to Chester.

Rob Franklin, my brother took his life five years ago from the very same thing Chester was going through. My brother suffered depression from child abuse by a close family friend of ours, but we didn't find out until this pervert died from cancer. That's when all the truth started emerging. My family is devastated from finding out this guy who we thought we knew really well would do such a thing as this. My brother just couldn't take the emotional pain anymore and was 51 when he died, so he suffered from all this for a very long time, and he also hung himself. So very sad. Just goes to show that you can't trust anyone. RIP Chester.
@SelvesteSand5 жыл бұрын
@@RobGamesOn "He had been doing great since joining LP" -- no, he was struggling all those years as well. He was always open about still struggling mentally. He got over his drug abuse, but if I recall correctly, he still struggled with alcohol abuse for a while into his carreer, and although he got over that as well and was sober for years until his death, he was still battling depression and whatever else he suffered from mentally and didn't like being alone with his thoughts and inner demons. Police reported finding a half-empty bottle of alcohol on the table when he had committed suicide, so my guess is that he couldn't handle Chris's birthday and got drunk just to get through it, but after having been sober for years, the alcohol hit him harder than expected and his demons finally overcame him. :(
@RobGamesOn5 жыл бұрын
@@SelvesteSand yes, I'm aware he was still fighting his demons, but my point about him doing good was the fact he had a support group and an outlet to release those thoughts. Chris's death just hit him too hard because that was his biggest support, gone from his life.

I like this guy. I’ve seen other reaction videos, but most will play a few seconds and then make some comment, which takes me out of the moment and ruins the flow of the song. This makes me feel how I would introduce some songs to my friends that normally listen to a different style or just plain missed out. He listens to the whole song first with an occasional comment or reaction. This also helps reintroduce me to songs I loved in the past. I also like the variety, since my own tastes vary as well. Johnny Cash, The Eurythmics, Weird Al Yankovich, Queen . . . And I like how Chester Bennington really catches him by surprise each time he goes from his sweet, smoothly singing voice to his primal-scream singing.
