Everyone’s talking about Emily and Chester, but have you considered the rest of the band as well? Suppose you’re a Linkin Park fan.. even if you didn’t like her voice at all.. wouldn’t you at least be happy for Mike, Brad, Mr. Hahn and Phoenix? After 7 years they finally managed to get over the death of Chester, found a person who, at least according to them, fits the band, who they like working with and after 7 long years can do what they were born to do and what they love doing the most? Creating and playing music for people? Take one look at Mike. At any point during the performance.. that’s the face of a man who’s having the time of his life. Is she Chester? No. She never will be but she isn’t meant to be in the first place. She’s Emily Armstrong. Chester is dead. Has been for 7 years and he’s not coming back. It’s unfortunate. It really is. But do you think he would’ve wanted the rest of the band to discontinue their music careers? I don’t. There’s 2 scenarios. Never play or release anything again. Or get someone else to sing for them. There’s no third scenario of Chester coming back. What would you rather they did? Become a local wedding band? Should they have renamed themselves? Hell nah. They’re Linkin Park. Founded by Mike and Brad. With all due respect to Chester, he was not a founding member. As much as Linkin Park wouldn’t be what they are without him, neither would Chester be who he was had it not been for them. They’re not that 2006 Linkin Park without Chester, but neither were 2015 Linkin Park. They’ve changed a lot and diverged from nu-metal to a bunch of different genres, so how is this change any bad? People say that true old school fans will never approve of her. What kind of bs is that? Linkin Park was an inseparable part of my early teens, I’ve listened to Meteora so much that to this day I’d pretty much be able to transcribe the entirety of it into MIDI from the top of my head. Even if I didn’t like her singing I’d feel nothing but happiness for those legends being back on stage again. I’m convinced they had a good reason for going with her. I don’t think they had shortage of singers interested in taking the spot. If you like what they’re doing, awesome. Let’s keep supporting them. If you liked old Linkin Park and don’t like her, you can always listen to the albums. Better yet, you can listen to Chester’s side projects. If you never liked them.. why are you here?

I totally agree, the first word in Crawling went straight to my heart and I cried the whole song. So unexpected, this was not even one of my favourite songs! And I really loved Chester, I saw them live four times in the past and I can't wait to see them now with Emily. In this show Mike showed us that he really is inteligent and kind, choosing a great setlist to protect the new lead singer.

38 here and man I'm crying like a baby over here! My best friend in high school and I's favorite was LP. We grew up with it. He died in March 25th, 2004 at 18. 7 days before my 18th birthday. He hit 2 of 3 horses on the highway at night in his '86 300ZX. I had to get all of his stuff from his car the next day. His parents' couldn't bring themselves to. I also spoke at the funeral, was the lead Paul bearer and created the 20 song soundtrack that played before the funeral started. 13 of the 20 songs were Linkin Park. I almost committed suicide when Chester died. It fucking killed me. I'm glad I stuck around to see this.

First I would like to say this was a incredibly brave to do first of all after 7 years. Chester will never be replaced and we all know this. Bringing in a female vocalist was probaly the right move to start. I got to say Emily did a fantastic job hloding up ther vocalsfor how difficult some of these songs can be. The visuals were inpressive. I still have my photo I took with Chester on my wall when we sat on a plane together from PHX to BUR. I wish them all the best!

I’m a hospice nurse and sometimes when I’m feeling sad after a hard day I’ll smoke outside while listening to this playlist. It’s such a bitter sweet playlist because the blues can bring such sad feelings but these blues let me know that everything will be ok. I just want to comment and THANK YOU for the job you do. And thank you to all other hospice workers.It's not an easy job to start with, but the mental aspect of it must be the most difficult. My dad recently died to cancer and spent the last 3 months of his life in and out of hospitals and the last 2 months in hospice care. He knew his fate and that the end was close. He was super brave in facing it, but I know it must've been hard. He told me that the staff was super professional and had a great sense of humour, and they took the little free time they had to have conversations with him. Again, thank you.

I'd guess that Breaking the habit is too hard for her as of now. You could sometimes hear her voice cracking to the end of a longer vocal line. And Breaking the habit is FULL of long vocal lines. She needs proper coaching and especially hopefully learns breath control on the healthiest way. Her voice is absolutely beautiful but im scared of the potential danger that comes with trying to get close to chester's screams. He himself even hurt his vocal chords back in Hybrid theory times. I HOPE they take proper care of her.

I recall purchasing Linkin Park's debut album, Hybrid Theory, on CD. I've been a fan ever since and have felt their absence keenly! Their comeback is the best it could possibly be, paying tribute to Chester's memory, with Mike doing an excellent job in bringing it all together. Emily isn't Chester and never will be, but her renditions of the songs have made me fall in love with LP all over again. After so many years, I can say with certainty that I love LP with all my heart. Listening to Emily's voice, especially the scream at 15:16, is breathtaking; she puts her all into it, and the slight break in her voice sounds absolutely incredible.

It's beautiful and endearing to see her overcome her nerves by the time they hit "What I've done". Fantastic concert. The lady is pitch perfect in a live show and they all sound tight together. I think she'll grow into the role well. She clearly loves the music, and emulates Chester while being her own. It's like watching the new trainee enter the field but with care and passion. They may be a little rough around the edges and it'll take time to smoothen out but you can see they care and want to be good at what they do.
