Hello, I would like to ask how to connect svndatabase and access. After I connect, the device has no symbol and footprint. And I enabled SVN in the settings, and set the storage path.

As with the footprints, is it possible to do the same with a path and name for a 3D step file. To add to the footprint?

If I understand the question correctly, you are asking if we can add a path to a 3D model. The answer is ‘no’. In the classic Altium Designer Symbol-Footprint library (what we call a symbol centric library) and in the database library, the 3D model is not linked. It is always embedded in the footprint. Much of this has to do with the fact that the model needs to be properly oriented to the footprint. There is no universal definition of origin for mechanical components.

Hello. I just have a question. I am an Alitum Librarian for our company. We have 1900+ components that must be maintained. So, is there like a way to connect the back-end of the Altium database to an Access or Excel file, and then everytime we perform an update im that file, the components in Altium will be updated as well?

You are asking for a feature of the Nexus offering by Altium Inc. Nexus has a workflow capability that allows the library to push and/or pull data from an external database. If you are using Concord Pro and have some savvy coders, you might be able to make this happen in-house. It would require you to understand the Concord Pro Firebird database structure and the methods Altium Designer uses to communicate with it. If you are using A365, you will not have access to the server.

Will there be any problem if we choose Excel instead Excel 2017 ?
@NineDotConnects2 жыл бұрын
You should be able to use whatever Excel you have available. In the dropdown list for "Select Database Type," there are two options for Excel: "Excel 2007" or "Excel." If you select "Excel 2007," the software will expect to find a file with the .xlsx extension. If you select "Excel," the software will expect to find a file with the .xls extension. REGARDLESS of which Excel you use, if you are using Altium Designer 2018 or later, you will need to download the 64-bit ODBC driver. www.altium.com/documentation/knowledge-base/altium-designer/working-with-32-bit-and-64-bit-software-compatibility

@@NineDotConnects , Thanks...*.xlsx is not working for me, *.xls is only what I was able to successfully link with AD 21 and I had to choose excel 2007 for that. I am using both AD and MS Ofc 64 bit version.
