I think it is very important to point out to server owners that collecting, storing and linking this type of data together without the explicit consent from the user that the information is being stored forever and is searchable by people plus not providing any type of privacy policy makes this bot non compliant with GDPR in the EU and the DPA in the UK.

That is not true based on what is being stored and what is required from user input it is in compliance. Server owners already have access to these 2 pieces of required information. In addition players can unlink at any time. If you would like to add a privacy policy or any other info you can in the linking instructions as well

@@adamdowns1808 sorry mate but you are actually incorrect. You are correct that server owners have access to both of those IDs but not in a linked format. I.e. a server owner does not know that discord user a is steam account b. When you make that link and make it searchable for staff you have to make is explicitly known to the user that you are doing so and they have to explicitly consent to it in order to be compliant. In terms of a user can unlink at anytime sure but the product advertises that the links are stored forever so right to forget is also breached, unless there is a process server owners can run in the event a right to forget request comes in.

While this is a valid point, it’s important to remember that different countries have different laws on this matter. I’m sure there are places where this violates. At the end of the day, it’s on the end user to ensure they aren’t breaking any local laws.

Are there any really good anti-cheat addons? EAC may as well not exist. I need a much better anti-cheat. Something that will stop loot data from being sent client-sided at all times. People's bases getting straight to TC and straight to their boom box is out of hand.

I am trying this for 6 Days now but i when i press start on On Iced it always crashes. warning npm engine unsupported after it says v16.20.2 is already installed. do you have any idea? i am going crazy. i did all the steps in your video at least 10 times. everytime i always deleted every file.

yo, Ive gone through this three times, followed every single step, and the bot on BotReaper still shows, server marked as offline. There is no help page on bot reaper, i just paid all this money and I'm getting pissed. What can I do to find my issue here?

Have you reached out to Amino for support? Or BotReaper? Maybe there’s an issue with your container (From setup, maybe the auto setup made an error)

@@srtbull Its all internal errors that I’m sifting through. Didn’t like how my IP was inserted. Links to the game and gives permissions in game but won’t push discord roles. Whole bunch of little things. Watched the video about 5 times now and everything seems squared away but something is off.

I cant seem to find it but I remember there being a video about how to update oxide group users based on the role they have in discord. I used to have this but took a break from running my server and now its no longer working. Does anyone know the video link to get this to work? Would be nice being able to allow mods to change a users role in discord and them being added to the appropriate group without having to go in game to do so.

Hey, I have a quick question so I am an admin on one of my servers I added myself to the server I do have some admin powers like no fly and other ones, but I don’t have the full admin powers like entity.kill only some I’m I’m limited as an admin in this particular server any suggestions on how to fix it on my other service it works just fine as an admin but on this particular one it doesn’t give me full powers. I can’t even give myself items and I’m still an admin.

Another great video. Thanks for the hardwork and dedication you put into this. I would love to be able to speak to someone about an idea i have for a discord rust bot. Basically the more you post in discord and the more your active in voice channels you would recieve in game rewards such as economics or other in game currency. Boosting the discord server would in turn boost the rust servers population.

I do have another question though, I noticed in the json for discordlink, theres a "oxide group for discord boosters". Is this the booster id in discord or just a chat name in the server? How does this know if someone boosted?

The oxide group refers to the ingame group name. The plugin syncs with discord, when the bot on discord detects a nitro boost, this will trigger a role assignment on your rust server, and this field is where you define which role you want players to have then.
