i messed around with the mod that let me see all the entities spawned and noticed that all the enemy minecarts are already loaded before getting into the cart. Deleting all enemy minecarts will result in a calm ride, because only the enemy on the tracks, planks and barrels will spawn. the same enemy cart spawning will happen again when reaching the check point after the first part of the ride. Obviously i tried out what happens if i delete the player cart during the ride and Leon and Luis can walk on the tracks but for me, i was on a fixed Z axis not moving vertically at all

I actually tried this. If you use a mod to cross the collapsed section you can go to the elevator and Luis will traverse the entire map by himself to reach you.
