I’m so impressed by the person Chen Yao is, the lawyer she’s become… I’m so happy with the flow and plot of this story although I didn’t expect this conflict between them but it’s the best and most realistic part of this drama. Both help eo to grow and learn and that’s not always through happy love talks, it comes with fights and discussions.

This is my favorite episode so far. A lot of people are criticising Cheng Yao, and to be honest, I've kind of sided with the man on sone things. But, watch the ending of this episode again. There is a powerful message there. For her, it's not just about winning a case. She has empathy for both ladies and how they are both hurting. She wants to see a reconciliation between them in order to help both of them heal. For those who think she is too silly in her actions, you must not have ever been in a controlling situation. True, he wants to help her, but everyone needs to be able to achieve goals on their own. Mama birds reach a point where they push the young ones out to fly on their own. And good parents know there is a time when they must let their children fly on their own. Ive been in a controlling situation where my husband controlled things to the extent that i lost my own identity. He thought it was what a man is supposed to do. But a wife is not supposed to be a shadow. It should be a team, a partnership, with co-equals who respect each other's opinions and goals and dreams. Control will eventually bring hate and destroy a relationship. The ML is not evil. He truly loves her, but he has the wrong view of what a relationship is meant to be. They will work it out and they will be better people for it.

Thank you! Exactly. It makes me sad seeing the comments and realizing people still don’t see why the fl is upset. To have someone try to help you with the best intentions but it means they never ask for your opinion before doing and saying things on your behalf because they “know better” and “more experienced”, never letting you decide and make mistakes and learn from them. It feels shitty and you start to feel like a joke and like nothing matter because they’ll always decide for you.

First of all we need to understand male and female inner/deeper requirements in a relationship. A woman(generalisation) typically wants security, reassurance, a rock to rely on in her partner. When a male provides this on his own, in his capacity the relationship(love) blooms into a beautiful masterpiece in the long-term. For men it is the assurance that they are needed. Men face different game in the society. We have an ecosystem where we are expected to perform/reach the best we can and the perks of moving up in hierarchy is rewarded by various things one of which is women viewing them as a better prospect. Most men dont complain but there is a deeper thing to feel that they are needed. That's why most men tend to have/commit suicidal tendencies when they are betrayed by their love. It hits very hard as it kind of says that you are not needed by anyone. When The help offered in good faith is not appreciated, it kind of raises the instict we have "you are not needed". The partnership between men and woman is NEVER equal. The effort put by two strangers to form a couple is not equal. The energy, resources, emotions that involve are not equal. It is a two-way street but the size of the way for different things are not equal. For some aspects the effort/output from male side should be more and for some it is the other way round. I agree with most of the things in the comment but somehow most people gravitate towards the idea of "equals" and all that. Most medium to long term couples have unequal contribution(for lack of better word) in their relationship. That doesn't mean they are not successful and are not happy. The equality is kind of overused in aspects other than where it is needed. There should be a negotiation where the security and the things that the woman expects from the man is in right proportion and the need for the man in the womans life. If I may comment on your relationship, based on the little information it is your fault(not completely) for your lack of effort or capability in stricking the perfect balance of your individual needs. Instead you found the answer in an ideal/philosophy. There may be some truth in the ideal, but practically it wont work. You could get a better picture if you talk to your ex-partner completely as a third person, just listening to his version without interrupting, judging and all or with the help of another person, you would understand where the male POV comes from.

This is a typical example of grooming a cat to be a tiger and when its a tiger you still want to treat it like a cat. She is growing because of his guidance but he still sees her like the lil happy sunshine who was eager to learn- when she is already at the stage of applying what she has learnt. All Cheng Yao wants to do is to establish herself as a competent and well respected lawyer. Qian Heng keeps announcing to anyone that will listen that she is his girlfriend. Qian Heng is already an established lawyer so this does not affect him negatively but is harmful to her career which is in its early stages. The negative side of this for her is not being taken seriously by her peers and people thinking she only got the job due to favouritism. Also I find the ML very immature, the way he takes out his anger about problems in his personal life on his staff, who are completely innocent.

Even though he wants the best for her but always trying to influence her with his own opinions is not right either. And the way he suddenly announced their relationship at her new workplace without discussing with her is wrong. When he already knew their relationship disclosure at his firm made her to go through so much even if it wasn't his fault earlier but still should have atleast discussed with her. And the way he straight forwardly stated at the party "why getting married" like c'mon even if you have a certain viewpoint at least he should have been a little more careful in what he's saying when she's standing right beside him. When Yiran joined the company she maintained her composure even when she was being treated badly but he on the first day of her new job went there straight up to state his relation. She has been calm through everything & never complained. And now when things are about to go out of hand can't she even express how she feels. What's so wrong about it. It's good that she raised this topic otherwise she would have to face more problems in future. Love this episode I know they were happy go lucky couple but the topic is discussed in this episode is so worth it. When you are together sometime it get suffocating or feel like you are not worthy enough to be with your partner because they are ready to do anything for you. The feeling Yaoyao has is present in all sort of relations not just with you partner. For example The exact same feeling when your elder tell you don’t do this cause they know how it went but you still want to see how it will work for you. You still want to have your experience. Or when you have an overachieving sibling or cousin that people end up unknowingly comparing you and you end up despising that bond because of constant comparison. It the same feeling but it gets tricky when it comes to your partner cause you want them to know how you feel like without hurting them. I love how yaoyao know that it might be coming from her insecurities that she still feel little to Qian heng but at the end he still not getting why she would feel that way and that will definitely take time and a-lot of conversation between the two to get to that point. At this moment it’s not their fault cause one is trying to express herself what she felt after the announcement of their relationship to the office and what Yiran said to her of just being an eye candy for an overachieving boyfriend while the other still have no idea why every time he wants to help and make things easy for her backfire on him. Though Qian heng has best interests in his heart but whenever he asked by yaoyao that he feel she can’t do this he always hesitates making him look bad and making her believe that her insecurities about herself is right in his eyes.
