Any reason to make a special meal is a good reason to me. You made another special memory for your boys. Years from now when they are grown with children of their own, they will remember the girls day meal from their youth. Hopefully they will have a similar celebration with their children. 💕💕

I know food prices are rising in Japan. But I still want to cry thinking of how cheap it still is compared to Canada. Your food looks much fresher, and higher quality too. You are blessed. I love your videos.

Your videos are very relaxing. I usually watch them at the end of the day to wind down. I'm in Texas and I have never tried most of the dishes you make, much less tried to cook them. But it is fascinating to me to see how other people from different cultures live. 🌷🌷🌷

for the eggs, I would suggest have you pick up one and then when your husband gets out of work, he can stop at the store and pick up another dozen of eggs. Just a thought. My mom use to do that when pop was on sale and there was a limit. Only she would make us go in and buy some. LOL. thank goodness the food prices haven't gone up for you as much. a dozen eggs here are now approx $5.00, umm I think that is 500 yen ( but don't quote me on that amount).

I bought a pineapple as well. Partly to use it in sweet fire chicken and as a dessert. Fun to see the special hinamatsuri kamaboko. I think I would go with the sumikko gurashi one :) I didn't do anything for hinamatsuri this year. Ingredients are hard to find nowadays and expensive and combined with being really busy I skipped this year. We have similar jelly pouches as well. Easy on trips and to give to school. My daughter loves the apple one. When we're in Japan and i see the apple yogurt I'm going to try and see if my daughter likes that one as well. That the matcha of the sweet treat matches the green of your cup made me smile. It is these little things to enjoy right?

Do you plan your family meals ahead for a couple of days? I plan ahead for the whole week, but it’s just for me and my husband and I keep cooking the same meals over and over so it’s pretty easy.
