The upper Buffalo is one of my favorite places on earth. Hiking, the river, the falls, the ruins. I have been there in low water and very high water. Once I was camping with my 74 year old mom and we got rained out and had to sleep in the van. I met a park ranger that I dated for several years (he moved on which is common). He took me places and I saw animals I would have never expected. Once at Ponca's landing a herd of elk were right there at the low water bridge. Truly one of those unique places.

You can take a camera while crossing rivers but next time put it in a special waterproof bag/pouch. I know from my motorcycling days (sadly those are over due to chronic illness) that there are some great bags and pouches to keep your stuff dry.

The one big downside to a loaded (And otherwise wonderful) FWD Ram Promaster! 😂 Next time you need to be pulled out there's a hidden tow ring for your front bumper! Look for the square plastic piece in the bumper that pops out. Underneath that is a reinforced threaded hole into which the large eye ring (Which should be with your jack) threads into. It makes it a bit easier than rolling in the mud looking for a questionable place to attach the chains to.

There are safeguards on some electronics to shut them down when exposed to water. Usually it is the attempted reboot prior to them being properly dry that fries them. Patience is key with these things.. it takes much longer to dry something out properly than people often imagine.

You should plan a trip to Pulaski N.Y. for Columbus day weekend 2023. Fri the 6th - mon the 9th. The salmon run! Salmon fishing on the salmon River N.Y. FUN FUN FUN. Really any year. But I recommend going at least once being that it's not really your area. But that's what can life is for. Exploring and new adventures in New places My friends and I go every year. It can be a bit busy this weekend but that's what makes it fun. Then after the main salmon run all the way through February, even into March all of the tributaries off of the Great Lakes can be fished for steelhead coming in to feed on the salmon eggs! Huge salmon and delicious beautiful steelhead trout! Great memories and a really fun adventure. A little secret.... when you get into town ask any local or fellow Angler for directions to the black hole! Best fishing in the entire area, you won't regret it

Great video, glad you’re back and filming! Two things… buy a small Pelican box to waterproof your camera…or even better, a cheap waterproof box from Harbor Freight would do. Hey Linnea, looks like a great back woods trip with dogs and friends. I too have an American White Shepherd just like Akela, his name is Shaman, aka The Sidecar Shepherd, and he loves to ride in his sidecar on my motorcycle. We’ve had many great miles together. I’ve done some backwoods photography on my trips, and I like to always carry my cameras in a large zip lock bag,it’s a little inconvenient, but it helps keep them dry. Happy Travels, Stay Safe!🥰👍ps love your video’s.🤗

That looked like an amazing trip! Sure it wasn't what you 'planned' but this story will last much longer in your minds than if it had all gone exactly to plan. A set of (tire) chains tucked away for situations like this might be useful. Idk if it would have helped in this situation, but they have gotten me out of a few sticky spots. Looking forward to more of your trips with this crew, they all seem like great people to be around.

Linnea this is going to sound a little funny but my promaster has gotten stuck a few times as well always on loose hills , next time try turning that stupid traction control off and go up the hill in reverse I swear you don’t even have to go fast ! All the weight of the engine helps with the wheels not spinning 😁 if that doesn’t work and you need a pull there is a tow loop in your jack box it screws into the frame on the passenger side of your front bumper, there is a little square plastic cover that pops out to screw the tow hook in. Also a tow loop welded to frame in back passenger side just under bumper . My PM is a 2014 , know yours is 2016 but should b the same 😄

I love Damn fishing trip stories . They give you a chance to laugh at yourself. I went fishing in a small damm and the alarm went off and we had to get out of there and we had to climb straight up in sand. We get out or get wet. Oh by the way it was 1:00am I wrote it correctly midnight fishing. We laughed even though we were in our forties, fifties and one in mid seventies we did it in record time. NEVER AGAIN. But we had a blast. Better than telling larger than life fish stories about the one that got aeay.lol

A very expensive 3 days but it reminds me of a book we’ve all read. 'It was the best of times, it was the worst of times…’ But I’ll bet it will be those times that you sit around a campfire talking and laughing about. Stories for the children. I know a few people whose temper would overtaken the positive and made it a weekend from hell. I’ve heard a lot of good things about that Remington rod and if I ever switch from my sage that’ll be the one I go to. A sponsor I watched all the way through. For murky water change up and try bright flies of similar shape and size. That works for me up here sometimes. I always have my choronimds with me as well. Maybe take some fly tying course through one of your sports shops. You’d laugh at some of my work but it’s half the fun IMHO. Cheers from Canader eh!

You should invest in a wench for your van in case you get stuck with no help around. They're not very expensive. Harbor Freight has some good ones that are durable and have remote control so you can operate it from the driver seat. Badland 2,500 pound for $84.99. I have one to load motorcycles on my trailer. I've had it for 4 years and never a problem.
