The monitor from ONN in the video is 1440p (they mention that at some point), but not high refresh I don't think. However my MSI is 1080p, but 144 hz, so I'd assume that it would depend on the use case. For gaming and content creation the MSI is likely a smidge better, but the ONN is likely better for content consumption and still decent for games. From someone who has used the ONN keyboard for about a year now, I have absolutely no issues with it and see no reason to upgrade to anything from any other manufacturer (no matter how much I love my Corsair, lmao). The blue switches while cheap sound and feel great to me, the floating key design looks good and is great for easy cleaning, and the included wrist wrest makes it so my hands dont feel like garbage after 20 minutes. Absolute stellar keyboard for a great price.

Something I think is interesting is that Dollarama is also getting into selling stuff for a gaming setup. Obviously since they are a dollar store they aren’t coming out with monitors and computers/computer parts and chairs, but they do have a store brand gaming mouse for 4$, and the other day I picked up some hdmi cables from there. Comparatively I think my Dollarama is kind of small so I don’t know what other gaming stuff they might have.

Cheap, but not cheap enough for my HS/college days. I would find really old, used stuff for really cheap, often free. and fix it up or mod it to suit my needs. My favorite one I actually still use for my setup when I'm watching a movie or playing a game with speakers instead of headphones. It was a boom box/stereo receiver from the 70's with something fried in the tape deck circuitry that was preventing you from switching to radio or aux. I got it for "free, as is", nipped the wires to the tape deck motors and reader head and got the thing to work again. I now have it driving a 10" stereo sub with high-end pass-through that my dad thew out and the original boombox speakers with 4" mids and 1" tweeters. I even get full band Shortwave so I get to listen to all of the amateur and pirate stations broadcasting out of the western Slavic countries and Scandinavia when the ionosphere expands at night.

Yes and no. With the volume set low, it does sound acceptable, but it shouldn't be clipping like that ever. Any semi-decent microphone should still be able to deliver a clean signal at 100% volume without gain. You might need the volume to hear yourself over game audio and others in the chat and if you can't get it that way, your only other option (short of installing special mixer software) is turning everything down in the windows sound mixer, then raising the system volume way above normal level and that's a royal pain in tha butt!

One more thing: I have the white model with cardioid pickup pattern. There are different pickup patterns for Snowball mics. My personal settings are boosted gain(becaus setting up a mic with windows is just....no...), and I have the bass turned down a tiny bit, like -2. I was finding a humming noise when I talked. I don't have a very deep voice, only slightly deeper than linus in the videos. I also use the NVIDIA Broadcast for the AMAZING noise cancelling. This gets rid of room hisses and background noise from my AC. It gets hot here in lower Colorado, so a fan or AC is on most of the time. Are there Walmarts in Europe? I'd think that they probably only sell Onn products in North America.
@DecanFrost2 жыл бұрын
@@joes. no there isnt, but as linus also said, they use parts from a standardized production companies, which means those parts also have to match European standards.

@@joes. Walmart did once try and break into the German market and got their asses royally handed to them if I remember right.

The area they really have improved for me is their laptops. My current gaming laptop actually came from Walmart. After a RAM upgrade and putting another NVME in it, it's pretty nice.

Ok the podcast mic when optimized actually sounds amazing for the price. What sucks is you have to adjust volume levels to get it to work right.
@vgamesx12 жыл бұрын
Ehh, it's fine but hardly amazing, check out Podcastage there are a quite a number of just as good or even better mics within the $15-30 range, for example the Samson Go Mic has been roughly $30 for at least half a decade and is very good but even for as little as $15 or $20 you can get something like the Samson M10 / R10S or XM8500 or Neewer NW-3U to name a few, the XM8500 is a fairly popular budget choice.

Exactly. My landlord bought an expensive couch ($800) from a "boutique" furniture store, and it's made from the cheapest materials available. Total cost couldn't be more than $60 for materials.

Onn has come such a long way from being obvious rebranded 3rd party electronics to less obvious 3rd party electronics with a more consistent design philosophy that I actually like (curvy). Good job Walmart for actually making cheap electronics with not only cost but performance in mind.

I personally used a bunch of different monitors, purchased the ONN 24in 165hz 1080p panel. For $150, it’s a pretty damn solid monitor. Has all the settings you’d need etc. height adjustable too. Note: you will need to BEND the vesa bracket for it to fit if it’s a 75 mm and 100mm plate

Amazon has better unknown brand names for that price with vastly superior quality and curved.

@@nervonabliss but you can’t just go to the store and buy it, that’s where walmart comes in. some people use cash to buy things, or like to get it the same minute they buy it.
