I use Linux Mint and install Win10 on Gnome Boxes and then install E-Sword through Windows. Works a charm. That is the only way I have been able to use it.

Great. I have success because my old version of eSword, along with wine and play on Linux.. Thanks for stopping in. Btw I did drag the books from a Windows install. I wrote the author about posting the version I have for Linux users...... No response. The one he has posted for Linux I could not get to work.

Hi. Yes, I would love to help if I can. I think the secret of my success was my old eSword version. I think it is year 2006. I used Play On Linux to do the main install, Then I copied the books from programs x86 folder of Windows 10. Have you used Play On Linux? I wrote to Rick, about the Linux version not working but I did not hear back. Let me know how I can help. I know nothing about raspberry pi. I came from Windows 10 and I have been learning/using Linux Mint for over a year. Let's talk Friend.

@BitsOfTruth ive never used POL or wine or box86 or gnome but Im trying to research to see if any of them will work. I have seen one other person make a video on installing esword using POL his channel name is Spatry... new to Linux tho and idk if any of these install methods will work the same on my OS.

no sound?

Yep, unlike Windows 10, Linux Mint stock screen recorder does not include sound option, and no more than I use it I was not interested in installing one. Thanks for stopping in.

Sorry. The only way I could help is if I could give you the old copy of eSword. That was the key to my success. I even tried one from the eSword website that read something like for Linux and nope did not work. Being a old software packrat and shying away from updates paid off for me here. According to the eSword author notes I am forbidden to upload this copy and it not likely anyone going to give me their mailing address here. So yep it works but no help sorry.
