I have a windows 10 OS that I would like to keep. I'm assuming clean install would eradicate that OS and everything I have saved correct? So how do I go about having windows 10 and Linux installed with the ability to swap between them without rebooting? Would I choose the custom installation?
@PulsarTECH3 жыл бұрын
Hi Logan, absolutely if you choose clean installation it will erase all the data from your system partition so I don't recommend doing it before copying all important files first. If you would like to install Linux along with Windows 10, you can check this video where I explain in detail how to do that kzbin.info/www/bejne/qKuanqp-ibt6jdU Let me know how it goes!

@PulsarTECH3 жыл бұрын
Hi, start by launching a command prompt or Powershell session, then run the command diskpart. This will open the Diskpart command line application in a new window. From here, start by using list disk to show all of the disks connected to the PC. Now determine which of these is your Linux disk. You can usually identify it based on the sizes listed. You will want to be 100% sure of your selection here because the following commands will wipe ALL DATA from whichever disk you select. Select the disk by using the command select disk X where X is the number of your disk from the previous command. Once you have selected your disk, use clean to remove all existing partitions. Create a new partition with create partition primary and then mark it as active. Finally, we can format the disk with format fs=Fat32 quick. Now your USB drive or SD card is ready to be used again. or you can use any third-party software for disk management to format your USB drive. Hope this helps! Let me know how it goes!

Yes, you need to copy important files first prior to flashing the iso image. But the USB stick doesn't have to be empty because when flashing it's also formatting the USB drive and removes all the data automatically.

Hi, after restart you need to remove the USB stick and let it load from the files on the hard drive. Hope this helps!

When I download the popOs file, at the begining, it download a zip file and I can't find the ISO file, what's the problem
@PulsarTECH Жыл бұрын
Hi, the file is likely contained within the zip folder, so you'll need to extract/unzip the folder to access it. There are various free programs available, such as 7-zip or similar tools, that can help you with this task. Hope this helps!

@@PulsarTECH I did unzip it, but theres no thing such as a ISO program
@Zoptec Жыл бұрын
@@staelh Same like wtf, I am researching this like crazy. There is no ISO program within the files anymore... I previously installed pop years ago.
