Qtile on Debian (Bullseye) revisited

That looked great! 👍 I guess I figured out I can't live without having a Debian computer so now I've got laptop #2 with Debian, SpectrWM and DWM. I'm still working on them but I want to install Qtile also. On my Arch machine I learned I could use emoji's as my group labels in Qtile. You gotta remember that the peanut gallery you mentioned is now a "RETIRED" KZbinr.

Great video. I was using FreeBSD for awhile. I still use it but I put debian back on a couple of my machines and I am impressed with how smoothly the installer works. Of course I'm minimal with my preference lately with MWM and DWM. I thought about messing with qtile again in case someone has a Mac they don't want anymore since it comes with a tray since I can only connect wifi on a gui with a Mac but hey it's all good. It does take awhile to configure Qtile but it's not hard to do your first video inspired me to mess around with it. Hope your day goes well at some point I'll make a video again.

Your qtile config inspired me a lot to reconfig my qtile. I don't actually care about that fancy bar you've but it is really looking good.

Question?? I'm using your qtile bar on debian stable and it is very nice, but I have no battery widget. I tried to import arco battery widget with no success. Little help plz...

You can probably copy and paste the battery section of my baraction.sh script into its own script and use it in the qtile bar. For a rudimentary battery widget. It's hard to be sure without looking at it, but it sounds like there is a missing library in the import section of the config. If you'd like to use my first suggestion, here is the link to my gitlab page. gitlab.com/linuxdabbler/dotfiles It will be in the scripts folder. Hope this helps.

I haven't had much luck so far in bookworm, but once I get it working, I will either update this video or post instructions on my community page.

Does anyone know how to get the separators to be slanted?

I used text box widgets to get mine to look the way they do, but I can't remember the syntax right off hand. You can check my qtile config if you'd like. github.com/linuxdabbler/personal-dot-files/blob/master/config/qtile/config.py just make sure you have a powerline font installed and it is called in that widget. colors for left and right side are done with background and foreground colors.
