Nayla once tackled dexter when the king was mounting a fake charge at dean.😂 Only thing we know that's solid is that they do indeed view dean as part of their pride. They understand he is different from them but they also accept him as a part of their clique and adore dean like dean adores them. Their dynamic with dean is very paradoxical they show no threats to him signifying that they instictively percieve him lower ranked in heirarchy atleast subconsciously therefore not being a challenge but rhey also seek him out and in a way his approval and his presence signifying they percieve him in the same breath equal to themselves. It's confusing really. It's like a plot of last samurai : they know he is different but regardless he is accepted and at the same time same as the rest of the warriors. That being said only the lions can tell us what do they truly feels towards dean and sadly we don't understand lion language.

He doesnt dominate or challenge but i think he's probably ranked as 3rd highest behind Dexter and Nayla tbh. They both respect him and Nayla adores him. So he's a defective lion but they respect his ability to "hunt", take them when they tackle him, but are more gentle with him as he's small and doesn't challenge any of them.
