Episode 47 - The Cramp Twins
After being told off for riding his trike into the classroom for show and tell, Wayne makes a big protest about the school being boring. Nothing exciting ever happens - like stunt cars or assault training! Miss Hissy and the other kids make fun of Wayne and when Mari calls out lion taming as a suggestion, Miss Hissy tells Wayne that if he finds a lion he can bring it in. Inevitably, Wayne is determined to get his hands on a lion. Lucien is up in arms until Mari reassures him that it is never going to happen? But Wayne is determined. He tries at the zoo and his taunting makes the docile lion angry. Wayne is scared but determined not to give up. Instead, he skins Lucien’s teddies and gets his mother to make a lion costume for Lucien to wear. Lucien is furious, but when Mrs. Cramp realises this is for school, she sides with Wayne. Lucien refuses to co-operate and soon Mr. Cramp is roped in to play the lion. But when Wendy brings her dad in to see Wayne’s lion - because he loves big game hunting - Mr. Cramp loses his nerve. Wayne convinces him that the only way they can both get out of this alive is for him to be the meanest lion ever so Mr. Winkle will not recognise him.
