chilling, renewing, soothing, expansive, majestic, eye-tear inspiring, gentle, timeless; the chromatic mod at about 3 50 perks the ear to mind realization of temporal peace, bliss, tranquility: contentment and the like -- this Adagio brings us back to it with a renewed vigor: a new way to the light; and we trust in the muse

Although this adagio is popularly called Albinoni's, in fact it was composed by the 20th-century musicologist and Albinoni biographer Remo Giazotto. He claimed it came from an unknown Albinoni manuscript he discovered, but he never produced the manuscript.

I bought the cd "Best of Liona Boyd" the cover has her with her guitar on horseback. track #1 Medley: Plaisir d'Amour/Cavatina & track #15 Lejania are two of the most beautiful pieces of music played on the guitar, (There are tons more than these 2 mind you) But damn! just damn! check them out :)

Sublimely wonderful! But listeners should be aware that this piece, attributed to baroque composer Tomas Albinoni was in fact written by his biographer, musicologist Remo Giazotto, who presented it to the public in 1958 as a lost work. Giazotto admitted to having arranged it, but since his death in 1998, most authorities believe it to be an entirely original work, not Albinoni at all.

@Yngsatchvai - Would you tell me how I can get this CD from Liona Boyd? I live in l.a. - not familiar with best way to get it. Also, howcan I find a 1987, maybe before that time, CD that has 'Forbidden Toy' and others. Thank you very much.

Well, some parts, like the section around 2:03, would sound OK since you're playing some chords in addition to melody, but for the other sections where the guitar is only playing melody, you'd probably want to figure out an arrangement where you play some of the harmony as well.

How does this piece sound when you play it without the background (just guitar)?
