I just can’t stop looking at those floors. That handmade, bespoke and perfect geometry with different colours and materials beautifully combined altogether. Absolutely stunning! It reminds me of the property I fell in love with in the tv series “The Durrells.” This of course is not the run down version. Since you asked, what I will do with the unfinished room is to make it a gentleman’s room. Nothing more comforting than plush leather seating, a lot of wood, maybe wood paneled walls, and many framed portraits and paintings. This is where I will display the many worldly artifacts and souvenirs I have collected over the years, books, many books. Oh, and let us not forget the best sound system for music enjoyment. I can hear Antonio Vivaldi’s ‘four seasons’ already. And now I wake up ; )

It happens because in the USA all the properties are managed in exclusive mandate, and prices must be public by law. In Italy this hardly happens for top properties. Since the owners have the chance to "hide" the price, they prefer to do it. And also properties are often shared with other real estate companies. This makes the market more competitive, and sometimes prices are different between different companies.

Personally, I think that it's inherited from the Italian culture, made of life in small villages built on slopes and hills, where houses were frequently on top of each other. _Stefanie_

@@Lionard Stefanie … hello! :) … true what you are saying. Old, and traditional, probably was/is the ruling norms. However, I am specifically referring to the elements of corridors, stairways and door widths (not heights) … this seems to apply also to larger villas and estates (not apartments crammed into cities, towns and small villages) … and that stairways are built to mostly accommodate one person at a time, corridors not wide enough to comfortably enable two people walking side by side, and doors (specifically double doors) are so narrow one almost need to walk through sideways for broad shouldered and wide hipped people. I understand there are past and perhaps current traditions involved, and I find it interesting how certain spaces was/is limited on purpose for whatever past and current reasons (in spacious buildings as well). Rooms and various other spaces may be large (certainly regarding ceiling height), but specifically the three elements mentioned above are often narrow and limited on space width wise. Other than that, there is no doubt Italian architecture (specifically classical) located on picturesque land is interesting and pleasing to the eyes … certainly mine. :) Best from L.A.

I am sorry that you feel that way, however before being accused of committing "fraud" I feel the need to specify that in Italy it is not obbligatory or illegal, as it is instead in other countries, to not show the price of a property. If a client requests privacy on this front it is their right, according to Italian standards, to be assured as much.
