In #Mugello, a green area at the outskirts of Florence, there is this ancient 11th-century complex for sale.
This complex dates back to the Lombard period, and in 1370 was converted into a country villa. Its grounds measure approximately 53 hectares made up of cultivable lands and forests, and features several buildings which measure approximately 4,600 m2 overall.
This complex is entirely protected by the Cultural Heritage Office and includes the main #villa, called the #castle, which measures approximately 1,600 m2, a lemon conservatory and a farm: these make up what is called a “court”, which is located on a high position and surrounded by five hectares of grounds adorned with wonderful Italian-style gardens designed by Swissman Louis Dapples in the early 20th century.
During the centuries, a series of farmhouses were developed around the court, these became a hamlet with a total internal surface area of 1,590 m2, and is currently used for tourist accommodation.
This estate features lavishing and majestic state halls featuring original period elements such as wooden coffered ceilings, magnificent stone fireplaces, frescoes, valuable paintings, statues and important pieces of furniture.
Its very good position just before the mountains separating Mugello from Emilia Romagna, shelters this dream home from cold winter winds and allows it to enjoy a very pleasant Mediterranean climate.

I think my favorite part of the property was the winter garden (specially the wooden painted ceiling)....and just imagine the view from the watch tower. Ciao. Hi Arsalan, the property was quite majestic and had the charm that only an historic property can truly have. I wish we could have gone on the tower but for safety reasons we couldn’t. The research depends on the property it’s never really the same amount of time :) Stefanie
