I did not know until today that Lionel used QSI DCRUs. Big surprise to me.

I might be wrong but in video it looks like only one axle set of wheels has rubber tires. The others just metal with no griping feature? I can understand why lead wheels need to be metal so the non derail switches work. The dead axle on truck can do switches too, but it’s not in forward position. If it were it would work like steam locomotive on switches. I agree the short distance between flanged driver wheels aids pulling power on curves. Especially “s” curves.😊 less drag with 4 wheel trucks vs the 6 wheels which actually are 4 with an “idler”.😊nice video showing differences. I don’t have neither of those engines so it was interesting to see.

Yes that's not unusual to have one of s set of driven axles with traction tires

The title is wrong . The Lionel IS an FA and the Williams is a Pa .

Actually no. The first one done is a Lionel Alco PA, The a Williams FA & I Used a Lionel FT to show things for comparison. I have several prior video's on Williams ALCO & sd45's doing the same grease. And a week prior to this video pulled the motors and greased a Lionel FT
