Lionel Layout January 2022

Work continues on wiring and track, Still some switches to be installed, along with finishing up the track work in the accessory area and the servicing area infront of the turntable. I am currently working on designing a roundhouse but that’s a side project on top of other current projects. One by one I’ve been able to slowly get around to wiring accessories and lights as I go. The 2400 series passenger cars being pulled by the 2245 Texas Special F3’s are freshly rebuilt and repainted. All 4 loops are up and running with most of the bugs worked out along with feeders added. The most frequent question I get is the size of the layout. Right now it’s 20’ by 14’ with an “angled” piece to bring it together end to end. With the possibility of moving being talked about, I’m reluctant on working on scenery, But that isn’t stopping me from adding to the collection. Newly featured from my last few videos, I now own a 1990’s re-issue of the 700e Hudson, Along with a 2005 postwar celebration series version of the 773 Hudson as well. Enjoy!

Looks like a lot of fun. When I was a kid, I thought smoking locomotives were kind of hokey. Now, 65 plus years later, I think they are great. haha Still love my A-B-A NYC F3s. Nice to see yours actually running and stretching their legs.

The track sounds are better than any “cab chatter “ or recorded locomotive sounds played back from circuit boards. I bet these classic trains are super reliable too. Very nice.
