I agree the HONK Is amazing. A very nice sounding engine. I loved your Southern gondola piled full of scrap. Your layout has a very nice design with years of enjoyment up ahead.

Nick my friend, that is beyond SWeeet !!! You are right about the horn.. it is awesome.. the seperately played tones is wild... I really like that. You're layouts moving along really well too and it will definitely be one to envy when done, I'm sure. I really liked that the train was in the tunnel for a good while.. Like it really did disappear to somewhere else.. really cool man.. They don't let us rate these high enough, but you know where our hearts are at my friend...

@bravosixxx Thanks Rob!!!! No problem about the shout out, anytime! Your engines are siggity sick, and now I'm starting to hang with the big boys!! LOL Its a freakin sweet engine, the only complaint I have is that the one window needs glued back in, and the speaker is a little scratchy. You can only hear it when the engine isn't running though, which s a good thing. Other than that She's a beaut!

@puttrainguy Thanks so much Dan! The horn on my new engine is really cool , because the tones aren't to far apart so you can quill it very nicely! I'm super duper happy with this thing. the only other engine I want more is the new hybrid which is a whopping $800!!!! We'll have to wait for that one, LOL!!! The inside of the tunnel on the main line is about 10 feet long! Thanks again for the great review and your kind words, as always! Your train friend, Nick

@MTHTrainFanatic Correct I need two more switches to finish the crossover, and one more at the rear of the yard right next to the other two lines in the center of the loops. Also, I plan to get two other switches after those three, that will go off the far right side of the layout and onto a new extension on the other side of the room that will be a reversing loop. I will have to see about when I start that because, I want to finish more on the current table first. Thanks again Andrew!

@paranoid19851 Thank you! Well When I first got this engine it smoked very good, but now its not working as well. Still smokes but I think the wicking needs changed.

@MTHTrainFanatic Yes I have tried the lash up! Its gonna be one of my next vids! The furtue extesion would make a "U" shape in the room. The entire room would be a train layout with a walkway through the center, it would be awesome!

@GunMetalJeep45 It is Awesome, Thanks! The new bridge at the front of the layout is a lionel bridge I bought off of ebay for $30+shipping. I'm not sure of the date of production because it didn't come with the box. :-( It does work well with the fastrack and full scale trains, so if you are looking I think this one works the best for the $. I'm thinking f painting it black and doing some weathering to it. Do you think that sounds like a good idea? Thanks Again! your train bud, Nick

As I've said before, MTH should take notice (and probably has) of the sound quality of the Legacy Lionel engines....simply second to none in that regard. Great engine and good luck with it, Pgh!

@1995marines do a google search, or an ebay search with legacy. and select description search as well....these engines aren't easy to find. save your ebay search and select email notification. so if one gets listed you'll be emailed. best thing I have for you. good luck!

I love this engine, specifically the lionel SD40-2 and the U30C.....the SD40-2 is supposed to be redone and truck spacing fixed....either way, I don't care, its a 3 rail train, and I have the powered and dummy UP on order and just need the other powered.....volume 2 2018 has some great stuff in it!

startup sounds suck, engine is just suddenly on, wheres the primer, and prime mover startup? voices are excellent, but the engine startup could be vastly improved.
