Goes to show football is more than just about goals and assists. For example, Nunez had a disappointing World Cup on paper, but he was still presenting and running to the right spots. He just didn't get the results and wasn't as terrible as most people said he was. An art of football players like Messi are their ability to time runs into space and avoid offside. That first goal, yeah, Souttar should have kept his legs closed to block the shot, but credit has to go to Messi who was on the flanks just a seconds prior and then he cut back into a position to receive and we all know how deadly he is in front of goal. He may have lost pace, but his football smarts is as strong as ever.

As an Australian, I never believed we would win but I did think we did better than expected. I think most people coming in would have said Argentina would score at least 3 or 4 times. His goal was fantastic. They kept him to hardly a touch up forward for so long, then he took his first opportunity and scored. Beautiful ! Actually the last 10-15 minutes of that match was excellent to watch. Arg the better team for most of the match, but Aust so nearly sent it to over-time. There was a run with maybe 5 minutes left (??) by a defender that could have been nearly best goal of the tournament, but a brilliant sliding stop. Enjoyed it. Go Argentina !!!!
