Goals is scored by individual effort and control on ball which makes it a real stat while assist is a stupid stat because it counts only when you have 2nd last touch before a goal scored which makes no sense. And to get assist all you need to do is get the ball and pass it to the one making runs. Anyone who has brain and first hand experience of game doesn't care about assists. Assists is only relevant in social media football not in real life. Those who play football know that goals is the main thing. Everything is related to goals whether defending goal or scoring goal.
