@@lexkanyima2195 since he joined Miami his passing / dribbling and even his finishing has been lacking consistency / quality.. his instinct seems off.. I'm seeing him do things he would never do before I can only put it down to age or lack of desire.. maybe now he's won the WC / in a weaker league he now feels he can eat / drink things that he didn't before, I don't know what it is exactly I just know i expected better of him. I'm not judging him by stats, I'm judging the thought process in his plays.. he does things sometimes that don't make sense to me as someone who's watched him from the start of his career.. zero consistency / reliability.. no excuse at this level.. especially when the team needs it from him if they are to achieve anything. People paying ridiculous prices to watch HIM play.. only for him to slack in all the great things that people expect to see of him. @@RThapaMagar No, he's right. You just proved you know nothing about football. I'm a hardcore Messi fan, but he hogs the ball for too long and tries to do everything himself. In other words, he became selfish. It seems like Messi forgot the basics and he's always trying to do something special. But sometimes you need to slow down and go back to basics, like Guardiola said: take the ball, pass the ball. Short simple passes can open up the defense and confuse the opponents, always moving the ball around back and forth, until a space is opened and a chance is created. But Messi obviously doesn't trust his teammates so he drags the ball by his own, the opponents take their time to prepare and position themselves, and they can anticipate every move made by Messi. Him holding the ball for too long only makes the opponent stronger. For example look at 6:32, he had 2 options on his right side, he could've made a simple pass, open up the defense, then receive the ball back and now he has a chance. But he decided to dribble and wanted to make some special pass which failed. If any other player made this same thing, we would call him trash, but Messi is forgiven. However, we have to be honest and call out his mistakes. He's still Miami's best player but it's a team sport, he needs to let other players play, that will help his game also.

Its so clear how much the team is dependent on Messi. Messi thrives in build up play which is non existent in Inter Miami. He is expected to keep consistently putting long balls and crosses in. I'm not sure why Jordi Alba is asked to keep making those runs. Its obvious that when messi gets the ball outside the box the defenders run to Jordi Alba. It is too predictable. I hope they build the team soon around Messi's style of play.
