I have the original 4 car LIRR set and 6 cars of the Metro North Lion Chief version. Even though they are truncated in length, they are nicely sculpted and look pretty good from a head on or 3/4 view. The LIRR even featured them in the poster for the Ronkonkoma Second Track Project and I don't think anyone ever noticed that they weren't real M7's.

@@Approach_Medium It was there but then disappeared. I guess it's something you can't do on KZbin. Sorry.

Truly incredible! I wish they would make the M7's and especially the M3's in HO scale!

i have the same lionel m7. Though it's only 4 trucks. I like the girders and how they are above ground. The only thing i dislike about the set is that there is no rear light. I mean there is no red light at the end to represent the back. Everything else is fine.

Beautiful. Looks real nice. It's just too bad they're not to scale lengthwise. But they look real nice.

Google 'Images Replicas'. No M7's listed, but they do have M3's (they're expensive, though)

@EvRayTatnall You have to make this train by buying two of the lionel metro north 4 car powered sets, and buying one set of the add on cars. There is a middle car which has been modified to have dual drawbars instead of a drawbar and pin to facilitate the use of a the powered units on either end of the train. Without two powered units this 8 car train will not move.
