We do but idiots ruin it. The police men who killed George should be punished and justice is beong served. What is the point to continue this. Doing this can make police less likely to act due to more rules and harsher punishments. Looting stores will take a toll as we will have to end up paying for it. More rule can make a free land more harsh and more sensitive

During the 80s, I thought pop songs like this one were very cheesy. But now I'm amazed how good and complex they actually were. For example African/Caribbean traditional music is awesomely incorporated into this song, and as a 46 year metalhead I love it!

I've always loved the multicultural theme of the song you have a clash of African American, Yoruba West African, and Caribbean themes. Lionel Ritchie himself created a whole new language inspired by the various languages spoken in Africa just to give the video a touch of authenticity. But I guess the 80s weren't ready for it, Marty Mcfly from Back to the future once said "I guess you guys aren't ready for that, yet. But your kids are gonna love it".

Here's the thing. People in the 80s didn't really listen to songs from the 40s. But here we are, 40 years later and these songs are still popular and loved across the world. The 80s were special man. Special and real.
@AlejandroMS672 ай бұрын
I think some people did listen to music from the 40s during the 80s, but they were in their late 50s at least or probably in their 60s or more, and they also didn't have KZbin back then, they had to rely on records, the radio, cassettes etc. There also wasn't as much music recorded in the 40s as there was in the 80s. Don't get me wrong, I totally think the 80s is the best music there is hands down, but we just have to relate the complete picture (and context most importantly) to truly compare.

Any songwriter and/or musician and/or singer would feel happy if they knew their music makes someone listening feel nostalgic. It means their music means something special to that person. Lionel Richie, included. He does all 3: writes, plays piano and sax, and sings. For those who criticize someone for writing a post to the subject of a youtube video: It takes a matter of seconds to click on a youtube video, and I bet Lionel enjoys listening to his music online on youtube at times and especially enjoys reading nice comments about his music. It is practically a given that he does this. Duh! Why not? Just like nearly everybody else who has a computer he hits up youtube from time to time, I'm sure. Any particular comment? Dont know, obviously. I graduated high school and started my first year in college in 1983. This tune also brings to me a lot of great memories. I think it's cool you or anyone else wrote Richie something nice. Too much negativity and bad feelings in the world. Music like this helps reduce that negativity/bad feelings and makes people feel good.

Yes So very true Music can heal better then a lot of book doctors can or could hope to. Music dont discriminate against one's race,gender,age just like terminal illnesses don't either. Music can tell a story an give a little bit of history as well without being dry an.boring. I listen to a little bit of everything as I can relate to some songs cuz of my time in the Navy,an working/waiting tables for 14+ yrs an I've just started bck to work in the latter part of May this yr as a server in The Iron Skillet restraunt in Petro Truck Stop/Gas Station off of I-40 heading towards Phoenix. I hadn't worked in a yr an 3 months due to this asinine pandemic,virus,scare tactic or population control or whatever ya'll want to call it as it has gone on long enough plus medical reasons. My husband introduced me to Bob Marley,Dave Matthew's Band an Creed an I like several songs from each group/band as well as from Bob Marley:)
