What a wonderful train. It's perfect and being the first set after that tragic war makes it even more special. Indeed in '45, the Lionel asserted itself as king......and that's from a American Flywe fan!

It is a great set Al. Really great condition for its age. So many items that I have bought or have been given are without boxes. I really believe most people threw them out early on. 99% of the items, I got from my dad, are in their original boxes. Thanks for sharing.

I've got the brown 2457 caboose with whirly wheels in my set. Haven't had any problems with 022 switches ripping off the flying shoes, but the RCS/UCS tracks will rip them off and break the fiber boards if they are just a little bit crooked.
