The 624 is one of my favorite engines. My very first train was a 624. This is a great video. Thank you for sharing.

When are you going to post the GG-1 coupler repair, or have you done so already? Thanks!

Nice job! I just love my Lionel trains, and the history. I wonder if there is a need for people like you to fix and service this units. This might be my new side job business when I’m not working on cars for a living.

My similar switcher, I noticed the pickups sparking and noticed the roller were worn to the point where their frame is touching the track. Can the rollers be replaced?

Great Video. Just went thru grandfathers boxes and discovered this loco. Put it on a track and it ran after being packed for almost 40 years. Could I ask how do you remove the shell? I see a broken black wire on the rear truck coupler that goes to a coil area like yours in the video and not sure what it is but would like to fix it.

Nice GG1! I have one just like it. Had to spend a day on it only to find out that I can’t use it on my regular layout because the curves are too sharp. I’ll have to make a separate track just for it.

Bummer. I'm running 0-27 myself and have to watch what I buy. Love my 624. Love the buzz of those E Units! Music!

I'm a new b to all this stuff. I have a question if any one cares to answer it. For cleaning like this could a sonic cleaner do for this?
