These old videos are so helpful to me eric. Grzyboski’s has a Conrail ballast tamper I’m gonna pick up and its so nice to put this on and see what I’m in for lol. I also really wanna try and find a track mobile at York but they are so dang expensive like 300+ bucks for every one I’ve seen !

Lionel will probably run the track mobile again before too long

Nice Eric like those Tmcc ballast tampers .Recently I bought my first command engine. And I am building and 8ft by 8ft O scale layout in my basement.

You should organize videos by type of product, like MOW stuff like this, locos, cars, decor, etc. Also that gang car brings back my first model train memory. I Went to visit my grandparents house and found it in a box and I remembered being so fascinated by it.

How's the slow speed operation?
@Ericstrains2 жыл бұрын
Not good. It's a very simple device.
@intermodalman1232 жыл бұрын
@@Ericstrains that's unfortunate, would been nice if they really geared it down to a crawl with the TMCC addition
@Ericstrains2 жыл бұрын
@@intermodalman123 well, you really need to have a flywheel motor to get that kind of crawl and I don’t think there’s room for it in something this small.

Is a real ballast tamper going to fly down the track like that or will it move slower to get its work done?

Oh they fly down the track at all times. 😂

Is it possible to modify a TMCC speeder to have a coupler on the rear? I have some RMT passenger cars I want to use with it but the speeders don't have any couplers.
@Ericstrains2 жыл бұрын
I suppose anything is possible, but I wouldn't recommend it. The speeder likely isn't powerful enough to pull additional cars.

This is a nice piece and Thanks for the Review. Will this Run on a basic Crawl Speed? I live by a set of Tracks and have seen these in action many times and there is no way they can operate that fast lol. Just wondering if it can be more authentically ran. Thanks.

Not really. They don’t have the creep ability that Lionel’s full size locos have.

That’s not a pantograph it’s a trolley pole, pantograph describes the shape as well
@Ericstrains2 жыл бұрын
Actually, webster's dictionary 1st edition defined that pole as a "pantagraph" in 1828. It wasn't until the 1909 edition that the distinction was made between a trolley pole and pantograph. Scholars, however, continue to debate that distinction to this day and I am staunch believer in the original pantograph definition from 1828.
