It’s a leopard not a cheetah. Lionesses are faster than leopards I believe. Last I checked leopards run a top speed 38mph, 60km/h while some lion subspecies can top 50mph 80km/h.

It's 100% a cheetah! They may initially look alike but there is a good way to tell! Normally you would just look at their coats; as Cheetahs have dots (or ovals) and leopards have rosettes which are rose shaped spots! The camera doesn't get that close, but the camera does show the face of the animal! Leopards are smaller, but heavier and have large fury faces! This animal has a very small face and short hair! It is indeed without a doubt a cheetah! I would guess that this lion did not "chase it down,"oppose to sneaking up on it while it was sleep or relaxed.

I do not care at all that lions destroy the pesky hyenas they are constantly outnumbered 30 hyenas to one or two lone lions its an everyday thing now. First of all, it's a leopard not a cheetah, secondly it looked young and thin, not really big and strong to leopard standards, let alone lions, if that leopard was a huge male, it would not have just run, especially seeing that the lioness was quite thin, had no backup and no male lion was there. It's a leopard. No black marks under the eyes, wrong face shape, wrong body shape, and a collar marking, which cheetahs do not have. Some have nice rosettes, others do not have obvious ones, and are very spotty around the chest, head and legs. You need to go do some looking at leopards vs cheetahs from the front, dude.
