Considering how huge Ligers are, they are calmer than their parents. We know, that Tigers and Lions are extreme territorial animals. But the Liger, which usually can't exist in the wild and thus, doesn't really have hunting and territorial instincts, remain calm. Even though they are calm, they are not to underestimate. Ligers still are big cats, that are able to hunt humans, when they get angry.

That's just because ligers are born in captivity, release a Liger cub into the wild and they will become territorial, just like a lion cub born in zoo will be the opposite.

They’re calmer because they’re too big to move. I think it should be illegal to breed these animals, they’re not natural. They’re freak shows. I’ve seen one up close in person. It dwarfed all the male lion and tigers that it shared a captivity zone with. They get naturally obese once they hit 4 or 5 years old, and they don’t live much longer after that. I’m almost 6 feet tall and their heads are the size of my entire torso .

Actually Lions existed in the same habitats and on the same continent of Asia until very recently. Indians have reported numerous occasions of them mating in the wild. These hybrids are usually in captivity but certainl y have taken place in the wild also. Only recently a man shot a hybred Grizzly/ Polar Bear in the wild.

While it is true that Lions and Tigers both exist in India (even today), and their territories "may" have overlapped in the past (Lions are confined to Western India only now, specifically Gujarat, in the wild); none of the wild Liger sightings have been confirmed yet. It makes for a good story (e.g. in the Shiva Trilogy, which is set in the Indus Valley Civilisation, 1900 BC), there has been no confirmed Liger in the wild, although I would like to believe those are true!

I think they can survive in the wild. The only reason they are so big and chunky is because they have no room to run around and keep a balanced weight. Plus all their food gets fed to them by the zookeepers so it doesn’t take long before they get huge.

I dont think that is the case. The theory that makes the most sense to me is that they existed at this size long ago when their prey was also huge. I do agree any zoo predator will be "fat and lazy" but apples to apples comparison is possible meaning a zoo Liger compares to a likewise zoo Lion and Tiger shows the Liger bigger than the Lion and Tiger parents COMBINED. That cant be explained by being a zoo specimen.

In ancient times, lions used to live in Greece and surrounding areas, Turkey, Israel and surrounding areas, Syria, Iraq, Iran, the edges of the Arabian pennisula, Armenia and surrounding areas, Afganistan, Pakistan, India (now they only live in the Gir forest in western India) and North Africa. Tigers used to live in Central Asia, northern Iran, Armenia and surrounding areas, and India (and still live in India in some places). Lions and tigers used to live in the same areas, so maybe lions and tigers might have bred ligers and tigons.

The possibility exists tigers and lions may have mixed especially because they like to interact captive environments both in friendship and in conflict. Both animals like to kill competitors such as leopards, cheetahs, hyenas. There is no proof that these animals avoided each other in the wild in central and Southern Asia going north into areas of Eastern Europe where Caspian tigers and European lions may have coexisted in ancient times. Not to mention European cave lions and Siberian tigers. There is also a line of thought that Barbary lions did not live like other African lions in large Prides., they are thought by many to have been lone Hunters like tigers. If that's the case what is to say Eurasian cave lions and more modern European and Central Asian lions did not behave as loners also?
