LIOW VIDEO: TRAIN MY AROWANA TO EAT FOOD STICKS 训练龙鱼吃干料

Now I start to train my Turtle to eat food sticks. As requested by YT friends to upload one more video, I recorded the first two days of feeding to share and thanks for their advices. After 20yrs of fish keeping, I'm still learning from the fish lovers here. This will be my last video about Turtle and I will stop making his video for 3 months so that you can see the bigger size of my Turtle when I make a new video again :)

I tried this method with chicken and my silver arowana managed to dissect the meat and throw out the stick. I didn't think of using shrimp at first, but when I used it today, he ate all the meat without throwing out the food sticks. Thanks for the tip!

Try letting the food soak in some water from the shrimp before feeding by giving it some time to sit. That should hopefully let the stick not be too hard on the aro to chew on, and subsequently produce less food waste as the fish will have an easier time chewing it.

I . . . . Never thought about that. What I do is make her fasting for 1 weeks, then try give her the Pellet. If she doesn't want to eat it, I extend the fasting. It work though, now my Arowana eat the pellets.

I see the arowana makes the water dirty leaving food scraps at the bottom. I highly suggest you get a Fluval filter sponge and make a whole from the top centre down to almost to the bottom and slide the pipe into the sponge. The sponge will keep all the food and pellet stick outside and not sucked in to the filter canister. This will keep the sponge in the canister more cleaner. All you have to do is pull the sponge off and wash/rinse with hot water and put it back on the pipe.

You used my tip on how to get an arowana to eat pellet stick. Those food stick are long. I always fed the round cichlid pellet or koi pellet which is more easier to swallow and no chewing.

zar ni 15yrs ago, I started with green aro than yellow tail followed by Red tail golden than red aro. From cheap aro slowly upgrade to expensive one. But at the end spent the same amount of money and time wasted trying different aro.( buying so many aro and give to friends or trade in). I would suggest u buy what u like and don't go for the cheapest one. (keep on upgrading cost more money).

nice. but it would be better if you rise your water level in my opinion. just put heavy lids on top to avoid jumping. the bigger the water volume, the more stable your water perimeter

You're right, more water will be more stable. But will not look nice in photo/video to see aro swim on top of the tank and below so empty. (not going to put other tank mate). Swim at 1/3 level of the tank will be perfect in photography.

Don't be soo pampered to ur aro it may spoiled him and only want lives food only forever. But before u wanna starve them *MAKE SURE* they are healthy first. Good luck bro :)

I have the opposite problem my arowana just reject life food. I think it is because since my arowana is still a baby i feed it with only pellets so know it dont even want to eat live food. but he will still eat shrimp thats the only thing that he eat besde pellets

Ansh Pingale depending on what fish u going to keep. Most aro tank are plain colour either black or blue. I put black and also cover the two side to calm down the fish. If not the fish will see a lot of movement around the tank.

jagadish pratap silver arowana will grow longer than any Asian arowana. 8 inch can use 3 feet tank (90cm) but need to change bigger tank (at least 5 feet -- 150cm ) when fully grow. I never keep silver arowana so how many time to feed I'm not sure. But don't over feed.

Be careful of feeder fish especially gold fish as they are raised in dirty diseased waters.

Push the feeder stick in to the fishes mouth and feed it to the arowana. Try round pellet for cichlids or koi. Do buy the large pellet.
