I had this done by someone who is supposed to be considered one of the best in the united states. I flew across the entire country because I wanted it done beautifully. paid airfare, hotel, a driver, and the cost of the procedure. my lips look exactly the same as they did before I went there, no difference. BEWARE of misleading photos of their work. most pmu studios show online photos of the "after" when in reality, it's not the true result! it's a photo of their swollen lips after being tattooed. they always shrink back down and the color isn't guaranteed to stay, especially if they don't tattoo all the way to the vermillion, your lips can end up looking smaller. I also realized after the fact that she posts mirror images of the SAME eye to make it seem like her eyeliner tattoos are perfectly symmetrical. lots of bad, shady work in this industry.

Be careful is very painful and also you can get cold sore pretty bad. If you have dark skin is very hard to retain the color.

You will only get a cold sore if you're predisposed to cold sores!!! Your artist should also be telling you to get a prescription prior to the service! They are triggered by any major trauma to the area, even filler can trigger cold sores! (PMU ARTIST, who has her lips blushed and also is predisposed to cold sores! I took the prescription and avoided a serious attack post lip blush)

It's not gone forever. Permanent makeup fades after time as it's not as deep as a normal tattoo it does fade completely after 1-4 years depending on skin type, sun exposure and how u look after it

I would say no bc this is like a “blush” per say. You will not get a result of a bright or glossy red lip. Possibly with more than 2 procedures you could achieve red lips as a look of red lipstick .

PMU ARTIST and I would NOT advise to do a bold red lip with PMU. The reason is, its a blush, a wash of color to enhance the natural color and shape. A full red lip would be way to harsh and unnatural. I would recommend a cherry/pink blush pigment that would be complimentary to a red lipstick, and then if the lipstick fades its not a bright nude lip underneath.

We numb the lips for 20-30 minutes before starting. Then if they start to feel it we take a pause and re-numb it but the procedure is usually done before having to numb it again

As a tattoo artist I can tell you that this procedure is going to take at least 3 sessions to get it ✅️. I personally would use a 5 round shader for this. You'll definitely pack the color in better.

One session is usually enough; it doesn’t typically require three sessions. The outcome depends on the technique, desired results, understanding of the lip tissue, and the client's expectations. Sometimes a touch-up may be necessary for slight improvements, but beyond that, additional sessions are not needed for this type of lip treatment. However, when correcting dark lips or changing their color, the process is more demanding and may require multiple sessions, even up to five. Regarding needles, the pigmentation can be done using 1RL, 3RS, 5RS, or Magnum, depending on the artist's preferences. Ultimately, it all comes down to correctly executed pigmentation and a thorough understanding of the technique.
